ABS-CBN to file a motion for reconsideration

After the dismissal of its case against AGB Nielsen Media Research Philippines, ABS-CBN Broadcasting Corp. on Monday announced that it will file a motion for reconsideration. ABS CBN spokesman, Bong Osorio in a statement said:

“The public will not be denied the truth because of a mere technicality. ABS CBN will continue its fight and file a motion for reconsideration. Our case and our moral purpose can only get stronger, as more and more witnesses are coming out to tell the truth about cheating in the ratings.

Our witnesses’ courage and passion for truth inspire us and fortify our will to fight for a clean and fair TV ratings process. We promise to continue telling their stories so the public will know how ratings are being manipulated.

Cheating is not data error and can never be considered as such. Bribing households equipped with TV meters to change their members’ viewing behavior should be condemned. Acknowledging that it exists and refusing to clean the process is tantamount to condoning and allowing cheating to happen.

We trust that in due time, we will be allowed to present our evidence to enable the court to determine who is telling the truth.”

Ano ba kase ABS-CBN, jumping the gun filing complaint against AGB…
I think this was a desperate move to discredit AGB and stop the low ratings ABS is achieving.
…and what is this case about complaining to youtube about FalseVoice uploaded videos of Charice Pempengco…you had his account deactivated…I think you are just jealous that FalseVoice has done more to showcase Charice’ talent than your station and now that she is starting to get popular internationally, you try to jump on the band wagon and try to claim her…Please stop this crab mentality crap…you should be helping in promoting this one of a kind talented Filipina and not try holding her back…ABS-CBN…you disgust me…I just cancelled my TFC subscription…d*^n you.

Affidavits submitted by AGB Nielsen general manager Maya Reforma revealed that 79 among 532 AGB Nielsen metered homes in six cities were exposed to “activities” of GMA Network.

Reforma said the 79 panel homes were persuaded to watch GMA shows in exchange for monthly prizes including P500 in cash, groceries, umbrellas, pens and medicine. “Panel homes who declare themselves to be watching ABS-CBN are asked to become a member of the GMA Kapuso viewers in order to receive a monthly supply of groceries and P500,” she said, describing one of the activities.

She added that of the 79 homes, 63 homes were visited once while 16 were visited twice or more times.

She said statistical tests conducted by AGB Nielsen showed that 16 of the 79 homes “showed a significant change to favor GMA in its viewing behavior.”

She noted, however, that the evidence obtained by AGB Nielsen “strongly indicates that the tampering was confined to Bacolod and for the period from July to September 2007.”

Reforma told the court that AGB Nielsen has replaced the 79 tampered homes from its television audience measurement panel. “We are also considering removing Iloilo as a sampling point,” she added.

ABS-CBN…Ang Biased Station…hay naku, sangkatutak na advertisement pa ang ginawa ng ABS-CBN laban sa GMA…im not familiar sa case, but i think it is unfair na gamitin ang “power of information” by brainwashing the viewers about their case against GMA and AGB Nielsen…let the case win by its merits and not by making an advertisement about the case and presenting na sila ang na-argabyado…ang daming binibida ang ABS-CBN laban sa gobyerno, personalities pero wala palang delikadesa kapag sila na ang kinakasuhan.

ABS-CBS surely done some “dirty games”. Most of the witness are quite convincing. They are talking and persuading that the issue are real. Let’s listen to both sides. Since they are not “proven” yet. Don’t be hasty in what we see.

Laki_mata, I salute you for making that wise decision to cancel your TFC subscription!

I was once a TFC subscriber in Jeddah before kasi sila pa lang ang meron ganung service nung time na yun. Pero mula ng nagkaroon ng GMA Pinoy TV dito, pina-discontinue ko na agad yung subscription ko sa TFC. After all it’s just a waste of money!

Now, happy na ko with Pinoy TV!

Yes, although meron kasi kameng bad experience in ABS reporting, all the details have been changed. [may nangyari kasi sa lugar namen at iniba ang report.. no idea why D:]

Basta for me..
Witness = Must have an appropriate EVIDENCE para maniwala.. kasi hanggang words lang sila.. hindi naten alam kung nakita nga talaga nila yung bagay na yun.

There are many evidences scattered around but guyz are they valid though?
What is validity? It is the measurement or approximation of truth..Are the evidences valid? Interviews are not guaranteed 100% valid. Its a fact.Interviews can cause inconsistencies due to distortion.

Nakakatuwang isipin na natuwa sa decision ng korte ang GMA ngunit di naman nakasaad sa decision na kulang at mali ang allegation, di pa naman lusot ang GMA.. its just between AGb ang ABS…

ISANG anonymous reader ang nagpadala ng reaction tungkol sa mainit pa ring usapin ng TV ratings sa pagitan ng warring giant networks na ABS-CBN at GMA-7.Sa palagay ng naturang Tonight reader, “cover up” lamang ang lahat para hindi mapako ang atensyon ng publiko sa biglaang pagsulpot ng rehearsal video ng Wilyonaryo segment ng controversial noontime show na Wowowee sa You Tube.

Nauna nang naibalita na mukhang “inside job” ang paglitaw ng rehearsal video at isang “disgruntled” staff ng programa ang pinaghihinalaang nag-post nu’n sa Internet music site.

Naglabas naman ng pahayag ang head ng corporate communications ng Dos na si Bong Osorio na luma na ang usapin sa Wilyonaryo kaya hindi na ito dapat pag-aksayahan pa ng panahon.

Kayo na ang bahalang humusga sa puntong nais ihatid ng sinasabi naming reaction: “With the ongoing network war between GMA-7 and ABS-CBN, showbiz watchers cannot help but ask if the whole ratings issue was just cooked up by Channel 2 to cover up the Wowowee video which came out in You Tube last month.

“The arguments of both sides have been heard and read. Bottomline is, there is no proof. Even the so-called witnesses cannot produce identification. And ABS is still leading in Bacolod.

“So much ado about nothing. Instinct tells us, why accuse a media giant like GMA-7 of cheap tricks when they can actually afford to spend billions on new infrastructure? Doesn’t make sense right?

“This brings us back to our first question: Where did this issue originate from? Why did it come out right after the Wowowee video was posted in You Tube?

“The link garnered hundreds of thousands of hits, which means people from all over the world were able to see it. Why isn’t it accessible anymore saying ‘This video is no longer available due to a copyright claim by ABS-CBN interactive’?

“Did ABS get scared that viewers and even Filipino overseas workers now know the truth after seeing that ‘rehearsal’ in the Internet?

“After denying to death that they are cheaters with terms like ‘technical glitch’ and ‘mechanical malfunction,’ they must have felt the blow in their faces when the proof was CLEARLY out there on video for everyone to see.

“Is this why ABS is now pointing their finger at the Kapuso network as the cheaters? Throw the blame at their innocent competitor?

“Let us not forget Willie Revillame’s video clearly instructing, directing that Wowowee rehearsal. It blatantly shows that at least two numbers were placed in one wheel which will determine whether the contestant will win the jackpot or not.

“Willie can actually choose which one to pull out as the prize money. What about the hundreds of people who wait for hours with the hope of winning?

“What about the viewers who actually believe that they are watching a fair game? This is what should be questioned and investigated.

Naman! parepareho lng nmn mga tao dito… Nagtatanung kayo ng pinag-aralan eh sa mga pinaggagagawa nio d2 prang kayong mga paslit.. gusto nio lng crain ang reputasyon ng bawat kalabang station ng station nio..

Tingin ko nmn talagang galing sa ABS ung pagsabi sa AGB na GMA ang alleged cheater.. BUT!! that is because nga dun sa BEEP nung unang testigo.. If that is a demolition job, ehh di sana wala nang BEEP ung Publicly viewed interview na un.. And, a request for investigation is MAINLY BASED on the statements of that WITNESS.. so therefore, an affidavit for investigation by ABSCBN (w/ GMA as the alleged) to AGB nielsen is based on that person’s statements.. THIS IS NOT AIRED because it is obviously improper to broadcast an allegation without investigation.. After the initial investigation by AGB, the allegation to GMA is now aired because the information on that time is derived from the results of the investigation and NOT from the WITNESS alone!

NOW.. about VIDEO EDITING! Both sides edit their video to make it lean on their own CONCERNS..
(Fair Competition=ABSCBN, REPUTATION=GMA).. Sa nakita at narinig ko, the ABSCBN news is plainly a news and issues are tackled and discussed based on the news. No inclusion of the PREVIOUS REQUEST for investigation is broadcasted(w/c GMA&supporters refer to as “pagputol-putol”because it is not supported w/ Concrete DATA Gathering. This, I MAY SAY, is a VERY RESPONSIBLE course of action for a MEDIA org. But GMA complained on the NEWS and CONCENTRATED on the UNAIRED(purposefully) complaint for investigation and integrated the CURRENT news with PREVIOUS Affidavit of request for investigation and CONCLUDED it to be an ORCHESTRATED DEMOLITION JOB. On the other hand, GMA’s move is very ACCEPTABLE because the issue breaks the stability of their REPUTATION. The only wrong thing (as i can see) about it is their ACCUSATION for a DEMOLITION JOB (for the very reason that it is not, on its raw form, a data supported accusation).

Does that mean that there is an even distribution of 2,1,.5,house&lot,etc – 0 for all wheels? Say, Willie decide not to give the 2mill today, and show a 0 in the supposedly 2 mill wheel, WHERE THE HELL WILL HE GET THE OTHER TWO MILLION FILM for the after-the-game WHEEL Price revelations??? Its “INSIDE THAT WHEEL”, too bad he can’t do an AFTER-THE-SHOW WHEEL PRICE REVELATION anymore because he already shown a 0 on that SUPPOSEDLY 2mill wheel! Now going back the current issue, the dismissed case on AGB by ABS is merely due to its early filing. Kung hindi niyo naintindihan, that means ABSCBN cannot file a BREACH of CONTRACT to AGB because they were not given the chance to file their evidences on the court yet, that is, the contract is not VIOLATED unless hearing on the evidence of VIOLATION and its actual concrete RESULTS is proven.

All in all, let us not judge things because we are not equipped with concrete evidence. (Aww, nadala ako sa pagbabatuhan niyo) Let me change that. Let us not hurt(verbally) one another because we are not in each well of reasoning. Let me give my final words of wisdom(asus!):

talagang pinapa-cancel ng dalawang network ang accounts sa youtube kasi parang pirata din yan.. un nga lang hindi sa cd or dvd.. kundi sa internet.. me tinatawag tayong copyrights at “exclusive” na mga shows, talents, production, etc..

so please understand both networks kung pinapa cancel ang accounts sa youtube..

Now going back the current issue, the dismissed case on AGB by ABS is merely due to its early filing. Kung hindi niyo naintindihan, that means ABSCBN cannot file a BREACH of CONTRACT to AGB because they were not given the chance to file their evidences on the court yet, that is, the contract is not VIOLATED unless hearing on the evidence of VIOLATION and its actual concrete RESULTS is proven.

ABS-CBN news only said that the lawsuit was “premature”. Buti na lang hindi BIASED ang Inquirer. ABS-CBN news just lost credibility with me all of a sudden. Akala ko objective sila. I’m so naive.

haler..if abs-cbn allegations that gma7 indeed manipulated in the tv ratings in bacolod city why not they will file a case direct for gma 7 in court than to undergo trial by publicity tactics… they always presented to their newsprogram that they do have lots of witnesses with them , so use those witnesses in filing a case against gma 7… dami kasing daldal…. wala namang appropriate action na ginagawa…
