ABS-CBN’s “Lobo” wins in 2009 Banff World Television Festival in Canada
Posted by: iostream @ 11:24 pm in: International (1,036 views) June 29th, 2009ABS-CBN’s action, drama and fantasy series “Lobo” won an award in the Telenovela Program category of the recently concluded 30th Banff World Television Festival (2009) which was held at Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel, Banff in Canada.
The annual Banff World Television Festival in Canada is dedicated to world television programming and its creation and development. Lobo was directed by Cathy Garcia-Molina and was topbilled by Angel Locsin and Piolo Pascual.

Robin Padilla is set to do a movie under Star Cinema. Does it mean he is turning kapamilya again?
It’s been four years after Robin Padilla transferred to GMA network. His first tv project in the kapuso station was Asian Treasures pairing him with former kapuso star Angel Locsin. It was followed by Joaquin Bordado and Totoy Bato.
The kapuso network also gave the 41-year-old action star 2 movie projects. The first was Til I Met You in 2006 pairing him with the Songbird Regine Velasquez. The second was the horror movie Sundo which was shown earlier this year.
Since Totoy Bato ended last Friday, Robin Padilla is still waiting for his next project on GMA. Until The Buzz reported last Sunday that Padilla is set to do a movie under Star Cinema with comedian Vhong Navarro.
“Pinag-uusapan na nila. Ako kasi malaki ang tiwala ko sa Star Cinema…. Kapag sinabi nilang bukas tayo ay magsho-shoot na, wala ng tanong-tanong yan nandoon ako,” Padilla said.
But does it mean Robin Padilla will return to the kapamilya station? This is still unconfirmed since there were no offers of a television show yet from ABS-CBN and since he has no exclusive contract under GMA films, he can do any movies outside the kapuso network.
Furthermore, GMA has lined-up a new project for Robin Padilla. He is set to star in the next primetime series with a working title “KID (Huwag Kang Susuko).”

Congratulations!!! Well deserved. The story is superb and shows how creative we Filipinos can be. Unfair sa Lobo na icompare sa Babaeng Hinugot sa Tadyang. Una sa lahat hindi sya original story, adapted lang ang Hinugot. Pangalawa, mababaw ang story ng Hinugot, walang sense. Acting wise, panalo ang Lobo paws down. At most of all, FLOP ang Hinugot!!!! Ay..may comparison pala, talo ang Hinugot!!!
To Robin, hope we see you back as a Kapamilya. Tumatak ang teleserye ninyo ni Juday before. Go back to the station where your acting prowess will be challenged. Work with great minds, work with ABS-CBN!!!!

hahaha… natatawa naman ako kay claudia. wala syang maipagmalaki kundi yong sa new york lang. gosh claudia my girl, ang abs cbn ay hindi lang sa new york nakakatanggapng award. new york, europe, australia at ang latest ay sa canada, heto lang naman ang mga bansang kumikilala sa kagalingan ng kapamilya network. not to mention ang mga asian countries na nagpaplabas ng pangako sa yo, sanay wala nang wakas at kaytagal kitang hinintay. may ganyan ba ang gme-agb-sardines?

This ain’t no tale anymore! The wait is finally over. To all the Angel fans, prepare to be devoured!
It is now confirmed that Angel Locsin will be doing a follow-up Teleserye right after “Only You”, her current TV Series in ABS-CBN which is modestly ruling over its Primetime block. The newly proclaimed “Primetime Queen” is set to do another unforgettable small-screen masterpiece with no less than the reigning Box-Office King himself, Mr. John Lloyd Cruz. The news has been confirmed by both Angel and John Lloyd from their separate interviews.
Angel said in her recent interview that she intends to go through a workshop before she starts working with Lloydie. She’s just so stunned by the superb acting skills of the actor that she’s worried she might end up forgetting her dialogue if she gets overruled by her amazement. Angel will surely learn a lot of things from Lloydie in terms of acting. Utterly, this is another big challenge in her acting aptitude and a further stepping stone in her ever-glorious and booming career.
There’s still no definite date on when they will start taping for the said series. More importantly, the theme and story are yet to be discussed by the management and production. At the moment, both the Kapamilya stars are very busy with their respective projects in hand. Angel is still working on her “Only You” while John Lloyd is completely focused in his upcoming movie with the “Star for all Seasons”, Ms. Vilma Santos, and Luis Manzano entitled: “A Mother’s Story: In My Life”.
Rumors have been buzzing around that Angel will finally be getting the chance to do her dream role in this new series. That’s right guys! Our Dear Angel wants to portray the role of a blood-sucking Vampire. She finds the character very challenging and she’s been waiting for this opportunity ever since. That sounds very interesting. I would love to see her in that sort of persona. She’ll be the most beautiful, classy and elegant lady Vampire if ever. Gosh that’s so exciting. I can imagine a scary yet very sexy look from her as a predator. I’ll be more than willing to be her prey. Haha! That’s naughty. I just can’t get enough of her.
Congratulations in advance Angel!!! This will surely be another BIG Hit in Primetime; another milestone for the Philippine TV Industry. I just wish the concept will push through.

“Kaya pala nagtataka si Angel Locsin at gusto pa niyang hanapin kung saan sa White Plains ‘yung sinasabi kong bahay na bigay sa kanya, eh, dahil wala naman talaga do’n.
“Ogs, sorry, dinig ko talaga, White Plains. Pero binalikan ko uli ‘yung friend ko, ang sabi niya, hindi sa White Plains kungdi sa Corinthian Gardens. Du’n ‘yung house.
“At ‘yung mga neighbors du’n, eh, nagtsitsismisan kasi nga, nakita daw nila doon sa malaking bahay na ‘yon si Angel kasama nu’ng negosyanteng anak din ng isang business tycoon, tinitingnan nila ang house.
“Kasi nga, ipinare-renovate nila ‘yung interior ng house. Eh, ang usap-usapan nga du’n, magdyowa ‘yung dalawa dahil sweet pa raw nu’ng minsang nagpunta doon to check the house.”
Merong ipinangako sa amin ang aming kausap para mas maniwala raw kami. ‘Yun ang aabangan namin.
