AGB Mega Manila TV Ratings (May 29 to June 1) ABS-CBN versus GMA

hahaha… gagayain daw ng gme ng paburger ng abs cbn. nagpaburger kasi ang kapamilya dahil sa tinatamasa nitong tagumpay. may pabiscuit naman ang gme at sasamahan pa raw ng pakape. nagluluksa kasi sila pagbaba ng kanilang popularity at ratings. im sure nakapila na si claudia sa gate ng gme para sa libreng biscuit at kape.

Nielsen being questioned in the US for ratings inaccuracy
In an effort to refute the claims of ABS-CBN and TNS that the previous emerged as the new ratings leader in Mega Manila, GMA Network released its statement with opposite figures from AGB Nielsen Media Research.
GMA, said in an article on its news website, that AGB Nielsen is the country’s most preferred ratings provider with over 19 companies in subscription. It also said that AGB Nielsen is the more trusted name in the ratings industry.
Nielsen is also the ratings provider in the US, while TNS serviced the United Kingdom, beating AGB Nielsen in a bid to provide TV ratings in the said European country. While TNS finds stability on its service in UK, Nielsen is facing some scrutiny in the US after reports of inaccuracy.
Fox Networks Group chairman and CEO Tony Vinciquerra is taking on ratings giant Nielsen Media Research, after the research company’s ecent admission that its TV ratings may be off by as much as 8% — and believes the company isn’t acting promptly to correct the problem.
At issue is Nielsen’s recent “In-Panel Validation Initiative,” in which the ratings org investigated how and why some viewers were incorrectly using the PeopleMeter.
Nielsen found enough people punch the meter incorrectly — especially when viewing in large groups — that national TV ratings could be off by 8%.
Nielsen said the study wasn’t meant to be an exhaustive survey of how many Nielsen participants use the PeopleMeter properly, but instead was more a look at why different demo groups weren’t pushing buttons and how to get them to better comply with the system.
As a result, the ratings org said the 8% number wasn’t meant to be carved in stone.
“The point of the study was not to establish a noncompliance level but to gauge how different demo groups perform in relation to others,” Nielsen spokesman Gary Holmes said. “What we were trying to do is establish a baseline that would allow us to improve our measurement. It’s incorrect to conclude there is necessarily an 8% underreporting in our panel.”
But the fact that it’s all unclear is what also bothers Vinciquerra. He notes that Fox execs have been scratching their heads all season over the “American Idol” ratings declines and believes this could be a factor.
“It’s been a hugely successful season, yet the ratings are down 11%,” he said. “There are significant, double-digit gains in (the show’s) votes, and there’s been a huge response. We believe the show is doing better than we see in the ratings.”
And Vinciquerra’s not the only exec who has taken Nielsen to task in recent months.

GMA-7 does not pass judgment yet on veracity of complaint against Aljur Abrenica
GMA-7 chooses “not to pass judgment on the truthfulness of the complaint” regarding its star Aljur Abrenica, who was accused of committing lascivious acts by a 13-year-old girl yesterday, June 2.
Aljur met Michelle, name of the complainant, in Puerto Galera last Holy Week. Allegedly, on two occasions, April 10-11, the 19-year old actor harassed Michelle by touching sensitive parts of her body. The girl claimed that the incidents were witnessed by her sister and a friend.
In a May 7 article published in PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal), Aljur denied that he knows the girl personally.
“Dalawang araw po kami doon [sa Puerto Galera]. Kasama ko po ang barkada kong sina Moymoy Palaboy, at na-meet namin ang barkada nila [ng dalaga]. Ang alam nga namin, mga promodizer [promo girls] sila dahil may ibinebenta silang mga products doon. Dahil maliit lang naman ang Puerto Galera, sa two days na nandoon kami, lagi kaming nagkikita, barkada ko at barkada nila. Pero hanggang doon lang po ‘yon,” Aljur said.
Aljur is scheduled to appear at the NBI office today, June 3, to formally answer the harassment charge.
GMA-7’s OFFICIAL STATEMENT. At present, GMA-7 is also conducting its own investigation. Its statement, sent via e-mail at 1:07 p.m. today, reads:
“GMA Network understands that the NBI is conducting its investigation of the complaint filed against Aljur Abrenica. The Network wants to assure the public that the company will not tolerate the acts of which Aljur is being charged. GMA Network on its own is looking into the veracity of the complaint. Until the results of the NBI’s and the Network’s own investigation are known, it is only fair to Aljur for the Network not to pass judgment on the truthfulness of the complaint.”

Aamining ko, i used to love abs-cbn.. i was addicted. Pero, when my parents decided to put GMA, i got mad kasi i thought it would suck (like what other kapamilya thinks)
And i realized that GMA was better then i thought it would be. The reason why abs-cbn’s movies are not flops its cause their rich and more people watch abs-cbn.. I mean some of their movies arent even that good.. no offence but most of them suck compared to gma movies. And can you people just stop it wit the GMA SUCKS OR ABS-CBN SUCK, that’s seriously no life and immature. I mean everyone has their own opinions and we shouldn’t prejudge something. Like, grow up and stop acting like children.. That’s why i learned my lesson. And nearly all my relatives and friends moved to GMA for somewhat reasons. So we shouldn’t judge and just be happy for what we have and watch. And for abs-cbn fans, please don’t say gma sucks because you never even watched it. I bet if you did, you would be like me and start to LOVE it.
