The October issue of Metro Magazine is all about female empowerment. Topping the list of empowered women for her popularity and the causes she advocates, is actress Angel Locsin.
The ten other empowered women featured in the magazine were ABS-CBN president Charo Santos-Concio, GMA VP for entertainment TV Wilma Galvante, ABS-CBN VP for news and public affairs Maria Ressa, GMA Films president Annette Gozon-Abrogar, Tina Maristela-Ocampo, Amina Aranaz-Alunan, Suyen Lim, Cristalle Henares, Marivic Añonuevo, and Joanne Rae Ramirez.

The epitome of beauty and grace ! I cant wait for her next teleserye and her new movie with Piolo … I’m a big fan of Angel not just because of her charming personality but being a good person inside and out , a very loving daughter and so down to earth . Good Luck Angel in all that you do ., Kapamilya is so lucky to have you and lucky for me that I am a long time Kapamilya and you’re so lucky you have Lucky ( ” oh my i just suddenly thought of Kulas ” Lucky Manzano character in Dyosa ) i think they are a cute pair .

kesa naman sa inyo mga kapuso puro na lang marian… nakakasawa na ang pagmumukhang yan…. at least anjan pa rin hanggang ngayon at least may time na sya for her family unlike nung nandun pa xa sa GMA halos di na nga makatulog sa sobrang dami ng trabaho sisiraan pa… eeeeoooowww…. di tulad sa ABS tingnan mo ang dami nilang sikat na artista…. di gaya nyo talagang stick to one.. hahahahaha…. loyal na loyal….hehehehehe…

I’ve been reading different comments about Angel Locsin and Marian Rivera and a lot more about the transfer of GMA artists to ABS and vice versa. Here are the things that I have noted and the way I see it:
(1) People keep saying that if an artist transferred from ABS to GMA nagiging sikat. And the reason they are saying is because hindi sila kaya pasikatin ng ABS at ang GMA ang may capacity na pasikatin sila. Well, let me say my piece. The reason kung bakit sumisikat ang mga artista na lumilipat sa GMA is not because ABS is not capable and GMA is the one who has the ability to make them sikat. The only reason behind is simply because ang dami ng magagaling na artista sa ABS and those people na lumipat sa GMA are those artista na ndi kayang makipagsabayan sa talagang mahuhusay ng artista ng ABS. Second, it’s not because din magaling ang GMA magpasikat ng artista but simply because wala nman maciadong artista sa GMA so and mejo sikat or not sikat at all na artista ng ABS, paglipat sa GMA, sumisikat…kze wala nmang sila maciadong ka kompetensya
(2) People are saying na ang mga sikat na artista ng ABS are galing lahat sa GMA and they are giving the credit to GMA network. Here’s my piece..I do acknowledge that those artists na galing ng GMA has the talents kaya lang since GMA can’t make their career bloom…mas magaling talaga magpasikat ang ABS ng mga artistang may talents…Anne Curtis, Toni Gonzaga and Marielle are all from GMA but I think sa ABS sila na develop to be good in their own forte.
(3) People are saying na pina pirate ng ABS ang mga sikat na artista ng GMA which I think is not really the case…Angel Locsin transferred to ABS and acknowledged the fact na sila ng manager nia ang lumapit sa ABS. Well, dun sa mga nagsasabing lumipat cia because of the TF..I would think that is really one of the reasons among the so many reasons she has…and I believe her when she said na one of her reasons is gus2 nia ma acknowledge ung pagiging artista nia by at least getting an acting award…She’s been with GMA for quite long pero ndi un nabigay ng GMA sa kanya…dami niang projects and movies na blockbuster but nothing brought her any award…
(4) People are saying that Angel Locsin is Laos na dahil wala na ciang soap sa ABS while Marian is so sikat dahil ndi cia nawawalan ng soap sa GMA…the fact na walang soap si angel ngayon sa ABS will not support the conclusion na laos na cia….dahil if you are watching ABS, papalit palit talaga sila ng artista para ndi nasasawa ang tao…and another thing sa dami ng magagaling na artista sa ABS pag binigyan nila un lahat ng soap ng sabay sabay then baka maghapon magdamag puro teleserye na lang ang palabas ng ABS. On the other hand, I agree na sikat si Marian…but I also believe na sikat cia dahil cia lang nman ang may maraming exposure from GMA. So if you are a fan of GMA since ang mga Filipino nman is maka network and ndi artista, then you will of course watch Marian dahil wala nman ng iba…and I don’t think comparing the number of soap of Angel and Marian will measure their kasikatan….dahil si Marian ndi talaga mwawalan ng soap sa GMA dahil konti lang sila don…GMA can’t take the risk of getting Marian out of the bright light…sino nman ipapalit nila db? No option nman din sila….and as I have noticed, GMA is not willing to take the risk na pagpalit palitin ang partners nila…kung alin ung kumita…sila na lang ng sila…I watched both Angel and Marian movies…in terms of acting, I think mas mgaling lang ng konti si Angal kai Marian…that is nung asa GMA pa si Angel…but when she transferred to ABS…I don’t think Marian is still comparable to Angel when it comes to acting…sobrang na develop si Angel sa ABS….she has more to offer….
(5) And finally…we are free to write our comments here so don’t take these things against me….

ABS-CBN climbs the Securities and Exchange Commission’s Top 200 Corporations, GMA slips
ABS-CBN had jumped to the 43rd slot in the Securities and Exchange Commission’s 2007 list of top 200 corporations from 68th last year, after the country’s largest media firm’s net profit in 2007 went up by an annualized 71%.
The company, which has an interest in radio, cable television, movie production and publishing, posted a net profit of P1.27 billion and total sales worth P19.9 billion last year.
In contrast, the company said, its rival GMA Network, Inc. slipped to the 93rd position from 77th in 2006.
The rankings were based on a report released by the corporate regulator, it said. ABS-CBN post-ed a net profit of P514 million in the second quarter, up by 12% from a year earlier.
This concludes that experts in corporate operations favor the performance of the Kapamilya Network. In contrast to its announced increase in net income, interesting to note, GMA was still ranked 77th.

According to one blogsite reader “Jenn” tips me (the blogger – not me)about Marian Rivera’s current going talent fee for endorsing products. Apparently, Marian receives about Php5 million per endorsement/TV ad. Great money, you’ll think, but it turns out, it’s comparatively lower than say, that what’s received by actors like Piolo Pascual (P10 million for Clear shampoo) or John Lloyd (Php12 million for Biogesic).
The reason, is Marian’s “notorious” diction: she’s pretty and famous and all, but in the TV product endorsement business, you have to have perfect “credible” diction so that you can effectively sell whatever shit you’re endorsing.
That’s what exactly boggles my head about Marian: why her handlers haven’t enrolled her in some elite diction training school is beyond me. Remember when in those scenes in her soap Marimar, where she’s supposedly a highly educated rich person who orders this and that to her henchmen in English, and she’d sound like she’s selling fish? It’s crazy, if you ask me, because we’re talking about boatloads of money lost in potential talent fee just because Marian couldn’t properly pronounce con-flag-ray-shun as boner-inspiring as 1925 Playboy centerfold-turned-Philippine senator Miriam Defensor Santiago.

So if you are a fan of GMA since ang mga Filipino nman is maka network and ndi artista, then you will of course watch Marian dahil wala nman ng iba…and I don’t think comparing the number of soap of Angel and Marian will measure their kasikatan….dahil si Marian ndi talaga mwawalan ng soap sa GMA dahil konti lang sila don…GMA can’t take the risk of getting Marian out of the bright light…sino nman ipapalit nila db? No option nman din sila….and as I have noticed, GMA is not willing to take the risk na pagpalit palitin ang partners nila…kung alin ung kumita…sila na lang ng sila…I watched both Angel and Marian movies…in terms of acting, I think mas mgaling lang ng konti si Angal kai Marian…that is nung asa GMA pa si Angel…but when she transferred to ABS…I don’t think Marian is still comparable to Angel when it comes to acting…sobrang na develop si Angel sa ABS….she has more to offer….

Ayuko din kay angel dati nung nasa GMA sha kase parang nakakasuka na sya nalng palagi nasa soap nila at movies. Sila nlng palagi ni Richard. But ang hndi ko alam dati ay Si Angel din pala napapagod at sobrang nahihirapan sa pressure ng binibigay ng GMA. Kung maunderstand din sana ng fans ng GMA ang point na toh.
Sana wag nyo tigasan ang mga Puso niyo. Kapuso pa nman ang tawag sa inyo.
Nung lumipat sha sa ABS, I was confident that her acting skills will be superb as expected to the Reigning Queen of GMA. Pero Hndi, ang panget ng acting nya. But I must, compliment her perseverance TO WORK HARD. Habang tumatagal ngiimprove na ang acting skills nya. With the help of workshops and acting classes.

Mas exposed kasi ang mga artist ng ABS-CBN magaling sila magbuild ng artist. Kaya d nakapagtataka na sumikat kahit saan man magpunta. Am I korek kapamilya? Before kasi sasabak sa kung anong project todo workshop sila para mabigyan nila ng justice ang role na bibigay sa kanila, kaya sila magaling at talented, di ba? Agree?
