Classes in all levels in Metro Manila and three Central Luzon provinces are suspended due to rains brought by Super Typhoon Egay (international codename Sepat) on Saturday (August 18).

Aside from the Metro Manila, classes in all levels in the provinces of Pampanga, Tarlac and Bulacan are also canceled upon the recommendation of the National Disaster Coordinating Council.

Since Wednesday, schools in Metro Manila and nearby areas have been shut and work in government offices was stopped Friday except for emergency services. According to PAGASA, heavy rains are still expected to continue to fall on the northern Philippines on Saturday.
