GMA Head for Regional TV comments on AGB Nielsen incident

GMA Network legal counsel, Dick Perez on the other hand said that GMA Network will be filing a libel suit against their rival network, ABS-CBN for identifying them as the station behind the alleged manipulation of television ratings.

OFFICIAL ABS-CBN STATEMENT
“Wala na pong mas mahalaga pa sa amin kundi ang kami mapalapit sa inyo at kayo sa amin.
Sa pamamagitan ng TV Ratings, nalalaman po namin kung ang aming mga programa ay angkop sa inyong panlasa at damdamin.
Para magkaroon ng mas makatotohanang TV Ratings, ang AGB Nielsen Media Research ay namimimili ng mga PANEL HOMES sa pamamagitan ng siyentipikong paraan.
Ang mga PANEL HOMES ay ang mga napiling tahanan sa buong Pilipinas na nagsisilbing kinatawan ng kabuuang manonood ng telebisyon sa buong bansa at sila ang kinabitan ng mga TV meters.
Sa pamamagitan ng isang meter box na ikinabit sa telebisyon, nalalaman ng AGB Nielsen ang mga nanonood at kung anong istasyon o programa ang kanilang tinututukan.
May responsibilidad ang AGB Nielsen Media Research na gawing lihim ang listahan ng mga panel homes at ng mga taong nakatira dito.
Dahil kung malalaman ito ng publiko, maaari silang lapitan at impluwensiyahan na ibahin ang kanilang karaniwang gawi ng panonood.
May impormanteng lumapit sa ABS-CBN at nagsabing siya ay binabayaran ng isang istasyon para hanapin at suhulan ang mga kabahayang kinabitan ng mga TV meters ng AGB Nielsen Media Research sa Bacolod. Para impluwensiyahang palitan ang mga programang kanilang pinapanood.
Dahil sa panunuhol na ito, maaaring may bahid na ang datos ng TV Ratings.
Bilang isa ring mediaman, naiintindihan po namin ang pangangailangang magpunta sa iba’t-ibang komunidad upang magsagawa ng mga promotional activities para makahikayat ng mas maraming manonood.
Ngunit, kung ang mga gawaing ito ay nakatuon lamang sa mga tahanang pinili ng AGB Nielsen Media Research, ito ay hindi na matatawag na promotions.
Ito ay lantarang manipulasyon at pang-iimpluwensiya na mabago ang resulta ng TV Rating.
Ito’y isang malinaw na paraan ng pandaraya.
Ang mga ebidensyang aming nakalap ay nagsasabi na maaaring nakompromiso nga ang mga datos ng AGB Nielsen Media Research.
Dahil dito hinikayat namin silang gumawa ng mga nararapat na hakbang:
UNA, dapat suriing mabuti ng AGB Nielsen Media Research ang kanilang mga panel homes sa buong bansa upang alamin kung saan pa maaaring nagkaroon ng ganitong pangyayari.
PANGALAWA, itigil pansamantala ang paglalabas ng mga TV Ratings reports dahil napatunayang nakompromiso ang pinanggagalingan ng datos.
At PANGATLO, maglabas lamang ng TV Ratings data kung kanilang masisiguro na malinis ang kanilang proseso.
Ang ABS-CBN po ang nananatiling pangunahing istasyon sa buong bansa.
Pero ang tunay na isyu ay hindi kung sino ang number 1 o number 2.
Ang isyu po ay tungkol sa pagiging patas sa labanan ng ratings.
Ang isyu po ay tungkol sa kung ano ang katotohanan.
Kung magkakaroon ng bahid ng posibleng pandaraya ang TV Ratings, hindi po namin malalaman ang tunay ninyong saloobin. Hindi po namin hahayaang mapalayo kayo sa amin.
Para kayo ay mapaglingkuran nang tapat, ang ABS-CBN ay maninindigan sa isyung ito.
Makikipaglaban po kami para sa katotohanan … para sa inyo.”

sa mga fans ng ABS kung itataas ba ang bayad ng koryente, cable at iba pang mga pag-aari ng ABS lopez ay matutuwa ba kayo?,, kasi lugi na abs cbn, maging sinuka man na talagang sinuka nga dahil konti lang viewers…kaya para makabawi tataasan ang rate ng koryente..at least rating ng koryente tataas!…matutuwa ba kayo?

Their teleserye is “trendy” malayong-malayo sa level sa pinas. Yan ang ginagaya or pinipilit gayahin diyan sa pinas. The way Koreans make drama in a light flavour.
Try to compare. The teleserye in the Philippines is horrible. Old-fashioned.
Kahit old-fashioned, meron naman nag-iisip out of the box.
Katulad ng GMA 7 kahit may pagkajologs or low budget ang shows at least super kakaiba di tulad sa nakasanayan natin for around 15 years na isang station of being number 1. Di ba?

la vendetta- since this is an experimental soap made by gma. It changed the look of the prime time scene. It is a crime,suspense series.
then abs-cbn followed the trend then after they will make a new version of patayin sa sindak si barbara series. Come to think of it, it is also a suspense, horror drama series.
SUPER HEROES- during early 2005 gma planned to remake a pinay super hero. and she is no other than Darna
then abs followed the trend and made a somewhat similar to darna called Krystala…
Marina- abs first fantasy series that was put in the primetime slot. It gained many audiences. but after the show..
gma followed the trend. then gma made a character which is a bird and they called it mulawin and gma change its primetime into fantasy-primetime shows while abs is still making heavy dramas during that time. Then this year 2008 amazingly abs doesnt make many heavy drama primetime shows. they followed gma which is making all of the primetime shows in fantasy genre.
Remakes again
gma 7 made versions of well known shows internationally
among these are lupin, shaider(zaido), and marimar..
they are well known shows globally…Some of which are based from novel (lupin), japanese metal robot series(shaider) and popular mexican drama (marimar.
abs followed slighly the trend. they made a version of Princess sarah which is based from a popular cartoon during early 1990’s
Chino vela….
abs started to open new heights in the philippine tv scene.. it is no other than meteor garden..soon after wards they continue to air chinovela accordingly.
then gma slightly followed the trend, instead of chinese oriented series, they tried Korean novelas.. which today is in the flow up to this year.
ano pa kaya?
game shows– abs started to import game shows and adopted it locally like deal or no deal, 1 vs 100
then gma followed the trend and it openned whammy, kakasa ka ba sa grade 5? and the upcomming pinoy idol which abc 5 is the first to buy the franchise of the show..
ANime…..
gma showed various hit animes which is also a global hit. there are instances they put the anime show into primetime slot during 1999 which is voltes V and in early 2000 the hit anime dragon ball z which gained high ratings versus heavy drama of the other station during that time….
then the anime fever slowly dropped and the heavy dramas reigned again…
Reality shows sino ba ang nauna?
it was aired during the afternoon followed by eat bulaga… a show hosted by paolo bediones and miriam quiambao…A magazine show turned reality show was made. It is an experimental show aired in the afternoon. During that time the other station traditionally airs heavy drama after their own noontime show also. Amazingly, the experimental show in the afternoon show a big impact in the ratings war. Soon the rivals afternoon drama was defunct because of the high ratings. Then gma put the show in the primetime slot.. and soon it gained popularity to the show and to the network itself. It breaks the traditional drama habit during primetime and it turned action filled and fun filled show everynight. Extra challenged reigned for almost 3 years. The rival station made a similar show but after a week it is defunct because of lack of creativity and it is resembles similarly to that of extra challenge..
then abs cbn followed the trend.. Notice all of the former host of the top rated show extra challenge are now in the rival station..instead of copying the show..they get the actual hosts of the show except paolo bediones. The former host of the first reality show was the host the newest reality show in abs the pbb.
wala na ako maisip eh… kayo na mag dagdag!!!
in my conclusion both of the stations gma and abs are copying to each other to gain audience…That is the game of tv market..
