Here is Janina’s Q&A portion on the said event:
Paolo Bediones: Janina, how are you?
Janina San Miguel: I’m fine.
Paolo Bediones: Alright, so you won two of the major awards - Best in Long Gown, Best in Swimsuit, do you feel any pressure right now?
Janina San Miguel: No, I don’t feel any pressure right now.
Paolo Bediones: Confident! Alright! Please choose a name of the judge.
Paolo Bediones: We have Miss Vivienne Tan.
Vivienne Tan: Good Evening.
Janina San Miguel: Good Evening.
Vivienne Tan: The question is, what role did your family play to you as candidate to Binibining Pilinas?
Janina San Miguel: Well, my family’s role for me is so important b’coz there was the wa- they’re, they was the one who’s… very… Hahahaha… Oh I’m so sorry, Ahhmm… My pamily… My family… Oh my god… I’m… Ok, I’m so sorry… I… I told you that I’m so confident… Eto, Ahhmm, Wait… Hahahaha, Ahmmm, Sorry guys because this was really my first pageant ever b’coz I’m only 17 years old and ahahaha I, I did not expect that I came from, I came from one of the tough 10. Hmmm, so… but I said dot my family is the most important persons in my life. Thank you.
Janina almost answered the question in Filipino with long pauses in between. Aside from winning the Bb. Pilipinas 2008 - Miss World title, she also won two special awards in the Bb. Pilipinas 2008 pageant - Best in Swimsuit and Best in Long Gown.

OK lang naman yung ginawa niya sabi nga niya 17 pa lang siya at first time niyang sumali sa isang BIG Pageant at nanalo pa, kabado talaga!!, well, she won Bb. Pilipinas-World, WALA NAMANG QUESTION AND ANSWER SA MISS WORLD PURELY BEAUTY AND VOTING…, and Im sure itra-TRAINING naman siya ng Bb. Pilipinas part yun ng prize sa isang language school.

Anong totoong tao? Lahat naman siguro na pumasok doon mga tao. Wala naman sigurong hayop. Yun nga lang, karamihan, hangin ang laman ng utak.
At anong confidence confidence? Wa poise ang boba ano.
Ginawang excuse ang pagiging 17. NGEK-NGEK. Hindi naman kailangan nilang tumula at gawing essay ang pagsagot. Napakasimpleng tanong eh simpleng sagot lang naman.
And training don’t do sh!t to these girls. You can’t train airheads overnight to answer questions decently.

Hindi nga niya sinagot yung tanong eh. At may mga ibang contestants na maganda at magaling sumagot, pero kahit runner-up di man lang umabot.. Lahat kaming nanonood, nagtatawanan na talaga sa sagot niya, at pati yung ibang finalists tinatawanan na siya…. then nanalo siya, shocked lahat!

Hello! eh ano naman kung first time nyan sumali! eh 13 YEARS na syang nag aaral ng english sa school no tapos hindi pa makabuo ng kahit isang grammatically correct sentence! wag naman sana syang magkalat sa miss world! kakahiya sa PAMILY nya. sobrang ganda pa naman nya. madali lang mag aral ng enlish in a short period of time eh kaso kung wala namang sense sasabihin nya wala ring kwenta. mag model ka na lang para hindi kailangan magsalita.

sinabotahe ata tayo ng foreigner na judges! haha. nakakahiya kung yan ipapadala natin. nagsayang lang ako ng pagod at puyat sa panonood ng binibining pilipinas this year. sana nauuna ang Q&A portion sa swimsuit and long gown, or dapat sobrang laki porsyento nito, para dun pa lang nascreen na agad kung sino pwedeng manalo. :s e kasi lahat naman sila magaganda, pero hindi lahat may utak. :s

Well…all i can say is “goshhhh!” u know guys I’m not good in English also like janina but i really disappointed to her about the answer she did…so ashamed! So ashamed not bcoz of how she pronounced the word but bcoz of her answered. Her answer is very far from the question….actually, yes! the question was so easy and simple as well but i don’t really know and understand y she doesn’t answer it in a simple grammar like “every family should have a role in their family member so the role they did to me is always being there…anytime and anywhere.. they just supported me for what i wanted to do. Thank you!” Pwede na ba ko sumali din? ahahahhaha

i’ve waited for the question and answer portion too long and after more than two hours of waiting, eto ang mga sagot na maabutan ko? Saan ba nila pinulot ang mga babaeng to? dapat palitan nila ang screening committee and the production manager. everything’s cheap. mas enjoy pa panoorin ang miss gay. nakakahiya sa nga judges. no wonder dennis trilio looked sleepy and kept on yawning.

Nag-tagalog ka lang sana. next time..if you get into the TOP FIVE of Miss World in UKRAINE…mag-tagalog ka lang and get an interpreter..OK..yun lang ang masa-suggest ko sa yo. I am sure you are a smart girl and can express yourself in the FILIPINO language. Janina is a FILIPINA..she has every right to speak in TAGALOG when she goes to UKRAINE…Wag ng pa-ingles inlges pa…alam ko mahina siya sa Ingles…but that should not be a handicap for her in the MISS WORLD title..South American candidates in the Miss World can’t speak in English fluently and they always get an interpreter for the question as well as the answer. kung hindi kasi nilalagay ang mga kandidata sa sitwasyon na kailangan mag-ingles ng dire-diretso, hindi tayo magkakaroon ng ganitong mga katawa-tawang palabas. unang-una, hindi naman kailangan magaling mag-ingles dahil puro pinoy naman ang nanonood. pangalawa, hindi kailangan na ingles ang gamitin para maging tunog matalino ang sagot.
hindi nakasagot si jenina ng maayos dahil nag-iisip sya kung paano nya maiisawika sa ingles ang kanyang sagot.
tingnan nyo yung ibang kandidata sa ‘ms. universe’, may tagasawika talaga. hindi na hirap ang kandidata mag-isip, mas nakakapag isip sila ng maayos at makabuluhan na sagot.
hay, kasi tayong mga pinoy, mapagpanggap. hindi naman kailangan mag-ingles sa mga ganitong sitwasyon, ginagawa pa rin natin.

Even though she sounds ridiculous, she deserves to be the Ms. World Title. I find in her answer sincere. Although she can’t express herself in English well, if you read between the lines, she’s true and sincere that her family is the most important persons in her life. And that made her to be Ms. World.

i don’t freakin care kung marunong man siya mag-english or hindi. sinabihan siya na pwede mag tagalog, pero pinilit parin niya. kung hindi niya naintindihan yung tanong, pwede naman niya ipaulit sa tagalog (which would have been a lot better, and could have given her a bigger boost). pero ang tigas ng ulo niya. ayan tuloy.,
hindi yung ability niya to speak english ang issue dito., kahit mag tagalog lang siya., mas maganda yun… i would have liked her kung inadmit niya na hindi naman siya marunong mag english at pina translate nalang niya., kaso matigas ang ulo niya, feeling niya kaya niya. she should know her limitations.

Just go to GMA or to the office of Binibining Pilipinas and ask to the management not to let this chikababes represent our country bcoz we all know even the stupid judges that she’s not good or should we say she really don’t know how to speak using english bcoz she didn’t made even a 5words to make her answer right. But as she said she’s only 17 but i dont think so that this is the reason not to answer the question in right ha. bcoz she can answer it in tagalog since the pageant theme was Binibining Pilipinas….

Initially, I also reacted why those who gave good answers were not given the major titles like the bet from Cebu in the recently concluded Bb Pilipinas 2008 pageant. But in the final analysis, I have to agree with the choice of Janina to be our representative to the Miss World pageant. She is tall and truly lovely. The communication skills can be developed in the coming months before the Miss World pageant. Afterall, the reining Miss World Zhang Zilin of China did not do well in her answer to the final question and answer portion in last year’s pageant. Her English was not all perfect when she explained that she could be the bridge between Miss World and Olympics Committee. But like Janina, she was the tallest girl and did so well in the evening gown contest. Visual impact will be Janina’s major arm in the coming Miss World pageant in Kiev. Out bet to Miss Universe pageant Jennifer Barrientos is a facial beauty that can easily be overshadowed by other contestants from India and Mexico.

Janina is very gorgeous and can rival Misses Venezuela and Puerto Rico in terms of beauty. She needs some training in speech and personality development. Hmmm… Malamang kabado nga sya pero di ba dapat kapag sumali ka sa beauty pageant, dapat may grace under pressure ka so hindi masyadong valid excuse yung kinakabahan (Yung 17 years old lang sya eh lalo na) kasi lahat naman siguro ng andon eh may kaba sa dibdib. Pero since andyan na yan, sana mag-effort na lang sya na magpractice ng grammar nya at magconstruct ng ideas nya ng tama. Good luck girl. Kasi kahit sabihin na natin na walang Q&A jan sa Ms. World, magagamit mo pa rin sa buhay mo ung mga un.

hay naku kadiri si Bb. Pilipinas-Ms. World. Ewww. Mukha nga siyang may scoliosis dahil parang hanger ang likod. Bakit pa kaya yun nanalo ng Best in Swimsuit? Leche! Alang kwenta! She laughed at her own stupidity! So stupid talaga!!! At si Precious naman, wowowee ba itech? Baka naligaw siya ng taping…ehehe. At ang mga judges, kamusta naman? Dennis Trillo? What on earth is he doing there? Was he there kasi nandun si Carlene? I bet, naawa lang ata ang mga judges kay Candidate # 15 pero that was perfectly wrong! As a judge, one should be objective, not subjective!!!! Asar! What a very disastrous pageant! I hope the Bb. Pilipinas organizers and committee should re-evaluate how they screen their candidates. Or else, wala ng kwenta ang mga pinaggagagawa nila!
