Janina San Miguel gives up Bb. Pilipinas-World 2008 title
Posted by: iostream @ 11:42 pm in: Celebrities (2,093 views) September 30th, 20082008 Binibining Pilipinas – World, Janina San Miguel backs out from the upcoming Miss World 2008 beauty pageant which will be held at Johannesburg, South Africa on December 14, 2008.
Binibining Pilipinas Charities Inc. (BPCI) issued a statement to the press announcing that Janina San Miguel has backed out from the competition. Janina cited the recent death of her grandfather as the reason of her decision.
“The untimely demise of her grandfather, among other personal reasons, has caused her undue stress, thus hindering her from fulfilling her duties for the said title… BPCI wishes to express its gratitude to Ms. San Miguel for this act of graciousness and concern for the country. They also wish her well in her future endeavors.”
As a result, Binibining Pilipinas 2008 1st Runner-Up Danielle Castaño will take over Janina’s duties as Philippines’ representative to the 2008 Miss World beauty pageant.

lol have you seen the videos sa contest na sinalihan nya? the one aired on national television? c’mon~! she looked stupid on that very moment and yet the jurors allowed her to win a title. sad dont u think? anyway, i am not arguing about that “diskarte sa buhay” youre talking about. the blog doesnt entail details on how “diskarte-full” she is. and may i restate that her action (the part where she refused to join the Ms. World contest) is such a brave and intelligent caLL. so you see? ginagamit din nya utak nya

ABS-CBN climbs the Securities and Exchange Commission’s Top 200 Corporations, GMA slips
ABS-CBN had jumped to the 43rd slot in the Securities and Exchange Commission’s 2007 list of top 200 corporations from 68th last year, after the country’s largest media firm’s net profit in 2007 went up by an annualized 71%.
The company, which has an interest in radio, cable television, movie production and publishing, posted a net profit of P1.27 billion and total sales worth P19.9 billion last year.
In contrast, the company said, its rival GMA Network, Inc. slipped to the 93rd position from 77th in 2006.
The rankings were based on a report released by the corporate regulator, it said. ABS-CBN post-ed a net profit of P514 million in the second quarter, up by 12% from a year earlier.
This concludes that experts in corporate operations favor the performance of the Kapamilya Network. In contrast to its announced increase in net income, interesting to note, GMA was still ranked 77th.

GMA commercial overloading cannot defeat ABS-CBN Airtime Revenues
GMA 7 cannot hide the fact that even if they can overload commercials to more than 18 minutes per hour, eh mas kumita pa ang ABS-CBN sa first quarter ng 2008. Hindi ba nakakapagtaka? Hmmm…Kung tunay na magaling ang network na GMA, it should double or triple the revenue that ABS-CBN is getting on airtime ads. But alam ba ninyo bakit hindi nagkaganoon? Kasi puro propaganda lang ang No. 1 sila. Kasi di ba, if advertisers truly believe GMA 7’s lies that No. 1 sila, dapat advertisers should buy airtime ads sa GMA 7 like crazy. Pero dahil sa Lobo, My Girl, Sining bee, Wheel of Fortune etc. Sira ang diskarte na overloading ng GMA 7
cannot fool advertisers. They have a lot of money but spend it wisely. They have a lot of money, but they do not just spend it based on stupid propaganda. They do their own random surveys, and when they do, the truth comes out. ABS-CBN never left No. 1 kahit sa Metro Manila. Kung quality programming lang ang laban, its not even a question. GMA 7 doesnt have what it takes to maintain the leadership position. its all smoke and mirrors. Sino linoko nila? advertisers put their money where they will be effective. Kung ganon, even at 18 minutes, pinagsisiksikan nila sarili nila sa various ABS-CBN programs kasi effective.
Scenario No. 1
GMA 7 cannot keep pace with ads revenue generated of ABS-CBN, kahit overloading. So ibig sabihin, they have to do drastic tactics. Expect more smear campaigns and everything but the kitchen sink thrown just to get attention.
Sceneraio No. 2
If KBP takes them back, patay sila. babagsak ang revenue nila kasi kahit nga sa overloading, di nila kaya airtime revenue ng GMA7, what more kung 18 minutes per hour ang laban. Babagsak sales nila. So unlikely they will go back at this time. Sirang sira sila sa KBP with their self regulation policy.
Scenario 3
They blatantly disrespect KBP, the organization that is all encompasssing. lahat ng media ay member nito except sila. They should cease operating kasi this is just not a club where you can get out. It is a regulating body to ensure that the consumer is protected agains overloading of ads and making sure other channels get airtime ads as well. Biruin mo, swapang na, nagmamatigas pa.
GMA 7 is in a hole. A big hole. Parang ENRON. They say everything is fine but deep inside, its an abyss of kapalpakan and mistakes. Its hard to run a TV station, but by golly, ABS-CBN has run it well. It may have a few problems management wise, like all companies do. But they have the balls to do run it. No ifs and butts, they run it well. ABS-CBN managment people who may be business sharks but has the intellectual capacity to be helpful or even playful individuals if the situation is needed.

Eh kasi naman ang mga judges na nagpanalo kay Janina ay ang mga BOPOLS na si Marimaw at ang nuknukan ng sinungaling na si Dennis Deliryo. Hay naku, sa susunod wag nyo ng kukuning nga judges ang mga tangang yan. Nandamay sa mga katangahan nila.

ei miss laging sawi… know what? i agree to mr richard. how can you prove that miss Janina dont have brain? atleast she did her best and have courage to join the pagent and even though you said she dont deserve it,… well i consider her deserving. Her character being down to earth and humbling herself admitting and very sorry that she did fail that interview portion and did not meet the expectations of viewers i admire most. she is being just herself. her pronunciation was good and she has the potential to speak a good english. she only has a poor vocabulary. speech defects can be corrected and janina can manage it. we must consider weaknesses of a candidate for not most of the them came from a well civilized society nor a wealthy family who can afford to give quality education. Janina on the otherhand was not that fortunate to have the skill of knowing and speaking english language very much as well as to elaborate words that far to form a good grammar. but all people know these things could be learned by time. can i ask you a question? were you born that intelligent? of course not. were you born speaking other language fluently? of course not. Even though your native language you dont know how, but what important thing is that your parents could understand you even though you dont speak and just cry.. they will know what you are up to. just like janina. by time she can be a good speaker, a well educated woman. and we will soon be proud off. yes in fact your right at some point, BEAUTY was of course the first requirement. for every other thing could be learned. all of us has a brain actually. and unique in all means.
who do you think looks stupid now? the ones that made janina won her title? or those who cencure her for being not that intelligent answering a question? other candidates for miss world have interpreters by the way… it is just that some filipinos are boasting and pretending that they can afford to speak a fluent english. even though they look verbose. it is just a matter of “show off”.

nahihiya na siguro si janina magrepresent kasi mdami yung nanlalait sakanya at sobra na yung mga negative comments dahil xa yung na declare na winner sa pagent. and words such as bobo, idiot, kakahiya xa, d xa deserving kahit sa anumang title.. bla bla bla… is too much to bare noh… please analize naman kung keo ba sa place nya d kayo mag back out? kaya nyo bang dalhin sa public ang self mo just incase pagtawanan ka or gwing katawa tawang topic ng media? as well as people around you? so what naman kung xa ang magrepresent maganda nman xa, may talent, may guts, mostly may character. pwede naman nya masagot in filipino language ang interview portion noh… ngyon na nagback out xa pinipyestahan parin at issue ang mali maling english. palibhasa magagaling yung mga nanlalait tska matatalino eh.. cguro pinanganak clang nag e english na… haaaaaaay buhay daming faultfinder.

indi nman kc porket indi xa mkapag english nang tama bobo na xa…mhirap yatang sumagot nang on d spot at alam mo pa na ang boong pilipinas nanonood sayo..and besides mga pinoy nman tayo ha..bkit d nlang tayo magtagalog..bkit un ibang nananalo nang beauty pageant may translator pa..d ibig sabihin marami pala sa mundong i2 ang bobo kc indi sila marunong mag english.. kc un mga tao sa pinas maliit lng ang mundong ginagalawan nila. i’ve realized na makitid pla ang utak nang mga tao sa atin simula nang nakarating ako sa iba ibang bansa at nkameet nang iba iba tao. try to look at the world map and ask urself how many ppl could really speak right english grammar. im in europe and iv met alot of smart foreign ppl who couldn’t speak well english..un mga nging classmates ko d2 sa europe un nag aral aq nang another language(not english)..un iba lawyer, doctor, computer enginer..indi sila ganon ka galing sa english but they r rili clever. kaya dpat ibahin na nting nga style nang thinking ntin sa pinas para umunlad nman tayo..ok mga kabayan!!!

Gosh.. ganyan na lang ba tayong mga pinoy.. feeling so concerned sa ka-pamilya or kapuso?? ano ba maidudulot nyan na mabuti?? is threre any help we gain from them??.. C’mon guys.. we support “this” coz thats what we believe in and ignore “the other” coz we’re not familiar w/ it.. hanggang ganyan na lang ba tayong mga pinoy?? so sad to see kung gaano lang tayo nagagamit.. paano tayo maging competitive kung hanggang jan lang ang kaya natin??

wahhhhh!! Grabe talaga sagot nya sa Q & A portion. wala doon wala dito. even an elementary pupil can answer that question correctly and clearly, but she can not! What a brain she has. only beauty, but the brain is empty. she doesn’t deserve the award! My Gosh! Nakakahiya!
