NOONG nakaraang linggo pa ako nakarinig na may Kapuso stars na lilipat ng ABS-CBN isa sa mga araw na ito.
Ang haka-haka, ilu-launch na raw sa ASAP si Jay-R at ang susunod daw si Kyla.
Napanood ko ang dalawa sa SOP noong Linggo at napansin ko pa na medyo marami na ang exposure ni Jay-R.
Okay rin si Kyla, pero hindi ko alam kung may balak nga ba itong layasan ang GMA 7.
Nakausap ko kahapon ang manager ni Jay-R na si Arnold Vegafria at itinatanggi ang isyung iyun.
Una, walang alok daw ang Dos kay Jay-R at hindi raw pwede dahil hanggang 2010 pa ang kontrata ni Jay-R sa GMA 7.
Aminado si Arnold na disappointed siya sa status ni Jay-R sa GMA 7 dahil SOP na lang ang show nito, at hindi raw maganda ang exposure doon ni Jay-R.
Hindi lang alam kung meron bang taga-SOP na hindi type si Jay R kaya bibihira mo lang ito napapanood.
Nakipagmiting na raw sila sa GMA 7 at naayos na ang problema kaya medyo okay na sila sa magandang exposure ni Jay-R sa SOP.
May mga nagsasabi na sa paglipat ni Billy Crawford sa ABS-CBN, dapat si Jay-R ang itapat sa kanya.
Hindi raw kasi naipapakita ni Jay-R ang sarili niyang style sa pagkanta.
Nangako raw ang GMA 7 na bukod sa SOP ay bibigyan si Jay-R ng teledrama at isang dance show.
Ngayong araw ay iri-renew ni Jay R ang kontrata niya sa Sun Cellular, kasama si Iya Villania.

AGB Nielsen Philippines corrects overnight rating of Pacquiao-Diaz fight

According to a report forwarded by AGB Nielsen Media Research Philippines to PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) website, the recent Pacquiao fight garnered an overnight rating of only 46.4 percent overall and not 63.8 as earlier announced.
However, the 46.4 percent mark of the Pacquiao-Diaz match is still indefinite since the full data is not yet finalized.

In the Philippine Box Office report by the website Box Office Mojo for July 2 to 6, 2008, one movie is missing in the list and it’s the GMA Films/Regal Films comedy “My Monster Mom.”
The “mysterious” exclusion of My Monster Mom in the boxoffice report triggered my curiosity since Box Office Mojo has been able to track local box office returns, even for Filipino films, since the year started.
I just called Regal Films and asked if they have any idea, even approximate figure, on how much was the gross of “My Monster Mom” so far. A woman answered “Sorry, di kami nagbibigay ng gross.” I also called GMA Films and asked the same question but they said they have no idea.
This leads me to the question, “Are GMA Films and Regal Films concealing the box office gross of My Monster Mom?

ABS-CBN books slightly higher profit of P598m

ABS-CBN Broadcasting Corp., the broadcasting unit of the Lopez group, reported a 15 percent increase in net income during the first five months of the year due to higher airtime revenues.
ABS-CBN president Charo Santos Concio, in a speech before the company’s shareholders, said net income from January to May rose to P598 million from P520 million year-on-year.
Consolidated revenues amounted to P8 billion, up from P7 billion the previous year as airtime revenues grew by 3 percent to P5.2 billion.
Airtime revenues should have expanded by 9 percent, excluding the P298 million in revenues from non-recurring political advertising, the network said.
“This means that not only did we manage to replace non-recurring income; we also grew airtime revenue further, as our ad minutes increased by 13 percent in the five-month period. It is higher than the industry’s and that of our closest competitor,” Santos Concio said.
Direct sales climbed five percent, driven by ABS-CBN Global, whose subscription grew 16 percent in peso terms.
ABS-CBN chairman Eugenio Lopez III said while the company delivered strong results in the first five months of the year, it is expected to take some hits starting this month.
Lopez said the ad minutes for the month of June had started to soften because of the expected slowdown in consumption due to the rising inflation rate.
But Lopez said he was optimistic the expected recession in the United States would not be severe to further affect the domestic economy.
“It looks like it is going to be a shallow recession. If that would be the case, then we would expect 2008 to be a good year for ABS-CBN,” he said.
ABS-CBN is also focusing on further lowering its costs and expenses.
Lopez said the company aimed to register a flat, if not negative, growth in cost of production against 2007 levels.

Despite the continuous barage of GMA 7’s paid hacks claiming that ABS-CBN is now #2 in NUTAM (ewan kung saan nila nakuha ang detalye nila), the latest NUTAM results show otherwise. In the past, kapag tense ang GMA 7, for whatever reason, they start to dilute and saturate tabloids and newspapers with company-furnished memo or praise releases about their show or un-religious and not-worthy-of-a-Christian-station negative publicities about their rival’s show, talent or what-have-you. Case in point: the negative publicity was the scandal-kuno of Angel Locsin sa kasagsagan ng kanyang paglipat sa ABS-CBN or that well-publicized negative email memo sent by someone in GMA 7 management to tabloid writers against Kris Aquino.
Now that ABS-CBN has disproved GMA 7’s claim na di-pinapansin ng mga advertisers ang NUTAM at ang patuloy na pagiging #1 daw nila (insinuating na ito ay para sa buong Pilipinas, when in fact sa suburbs lamang ng Mega Manila), thru ABS-CBN’s 3rd quarter results, heto na naman at kaliwa’t kanan na naman ang praise releases ng GMA 7 and/or negative issues raised against ABS-CBN and/or its talents. Well, GMA 7 is becoming old and tarnished. It may have done them good in the past, but with Filipinos now aware of how the rating system works and why things happen, di na maloloko pa ng GMA 7 ang mga tao.
And I must say that with ABS-CBN’s intentions to go HiDef in 2008, GMA 7’s edge over ABS-CBN in terms of signal quality becomes moot and academic. GMA 7 has every reason to shudder in fear! Their demise might be slow and steady starting in 2008 with this edge taken away from them, but it’s still a demise nonetheless! So, let me say it now, and let me say it clearly to GMA 7….. start packing your bags (and include in it your dirty tactics) because you are about to witness a Genesis of epic proportions. Taste while you are at it on the top of the suburbs Mega Manila ratings because come time when all television sets become HiDef enabled, baka pupulutin nalang kayo sa kangkungan… GUYS ABS Is really the No.1

German Moreno, better known as Kuya Germs, reportedly did not like Pinoy Idol judge Wyngard Tracy’s comment on PI contestant JJ Jr., supposedly calling JJ ’s performance, “Pang-‘Walang Tulugan.’”
“Walang Tulugan” apparently means Kuya Germs’s pre-dawn variety show.
Startalk interviewed Kuya Germs and asked for his reaction on the said comment. He said, “Sinasabi na nga ba’t ganoon ang ginawa ni Wyngard na idinadawit ang show ko na sabihing ganoon na pang-‘Walang Tulugan’ ka lamang. So, ang dating doon…siyempre doon sa mga nakakaintindi, e, parang minamaliit niya ang ‘Walang Tulugan.’ Hindi dapat. It’s very unethical talaga.”
NO DENIAL. Wyngard didn’t deny these facts about him using the term ‘Walang Tulugan’ as a way of gauging the Pinoy Idol contestant’s performance.
“Sinabi ko talaga ‘yon,” Wyngard admitted. “Wala akong intensyon na maliitin si German Moreno o ang ‘Walang Tulugan!’ na show. Sana po huwag ninyo bigyan ng kulay yung naging komento ko kay JJ Jr. na doon siya mag-umpisa, kasi alam po nating lahat na marami ang na-discover, marami ang nag-umpisa, marami ang dinevelop, at marami ang sumikat dahil kay German Moreno.”
With his statement regarding his respect for German Moreno, is Wyngard willing to apologize to Kuya Germs and fix the issue?
“Germs, alam mo ‘yon. Hindi ganoon ang intensyon ko, wala akong ganoong intensyon. Kaya hindi ako guilty at hindi ako mag-a-apologize, kasi talagang hindi ko ‘yon…uh, hindi ‘yon ang ibig kong sabihin nung sinabi ko ‘yon. At sana maintindihan mo ‘yon.”

According to a report forwarded by AGB Nielsen Media Research Philippines to PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) website, the recent Pacquiao fight garnered an overnight rating of only 46.4 percent overall and not 63.8 as earlier announced.
However, the 46.4 percent mark of the Pacquiao-Diaz match is still indefinite since the full data is not yet finalized.

Pakibasa po ng malaman nyo gaano ka-corrupt ang govt. natin sa electric
bill natin!
Bilib ako sa commercial ni Juday, biro mo naipaliwanag niya in 30 seconds
ang masalimuot na system loss na yan. Pero napanood nyo na ba ang bagong
Commercial ni Jet Lee tungkol dito? Mas malupit kaysa kay Juday.
Tama si Juday sa kanyang paliwanag ng system loss, pero kung tayo ang
bibili ng yelo at ayaw talaga nating mabawasan ang yelong binili, syempre
magdadala tayo ng styrofoam ice box o Coleman.
Ang tawag diyan ay “increase the efficiency”. Kung baga sa mga distribution
utilities, ayusin nila nang husto ang electrical
network, pati na ang mga substation and step-down transformers para
nag-ooperate sila sa maximum efficiencies. Kung lumang-luma na, palitan o
di kaya i-maintenance. Tapos, ireduce, at kung maaari ay alisin ang
mga administrative inefficiencies, tulad ng wrong meter readings, pilferage
at kung ano ano pa.
At alam ba ninyo na hindi lang meralco ang nagpapasa ng system loss?
Pati ang TRANSCO na government-owned at siyang nagme- maintain ng power

Ngayon alam na natin kung bakit natunaw ang yelong binili ni Juday… pero
part pa lamang yan ng equation kung bakit mataas ang singil ng ating
koryente. Kunin ang electric bill – - at heto ang component ng ating
electric bill . . .

Ang kuryenteng iyan ay padadaanin ngayon sa TRANSCO, papunta sa
distribution utility natin gaya ng Meralco. Muli tayong bubuwisan
ng gobyerno, this time 11 cents/kwh.
Pag nakarating sa Meralco ang kuryente, muli sisingilin tayo ng
buwis ng gobyerno, ng DISTRIBUTION TAX AT FRANCHISE TAX
At dahil magbabayad tayo ng system loss, muli na naman tayong bubuwisan ng
gobyerno ng SYSTEM LOSS TAX.
At eto pa ang kwela sa lahat, after i-total ang iyong electric
charges, papatawan kang muli ng TAX – - – this time yung 12% E-VAT.
Imagine, 5 ang TAXES na binayaran mo, yung tax na yun eh bubuwisan pang
muli ng isa pang tax.
Ang alam ko po sa batas bawal ang double taxation. Pero sa
ginagawang ito ng gobyerno siguro naaayon na sa batas kasi lampas na sa
double eh (sarcastic lang po).
At upang madagdagan pa ang sama ng loob nating mga Filipino, ang Napocor,
ayon sa batas ay kinakailangang mag-imbak ng supply ng coal
na tatagal ng 5 taon. Pero ano ang ginagawa ng Napocor? Sasairin nila yung
supply nila ng coal upang tumagal lamang ng isang taon, at dahil paubos na,
mapipilitan silang mag-conduct ng emergency purchase na di na dadaan sa
bidding, or kung dumaan man, dahil sa ikli ng time-table, walang makakapag-
bid.
So si Napocor bibili ng coal, hindi sa lowest bidder, kundi sa kanilang
preferred suplier. Ang masaya pa nito, ang laki na ng
patong, higit pa sa doble ng actual price ng coal sa market!
Idagdag pa dyan ang arkila ng mga barko na gagamitin sa pag- transport ng
coal, syempre muling pagkakakitaan ng mga Napocor executives.
Sobra na nga ang pinapataw na tax sa atin, ninanakawan pa tayo ng gobyerno
natin! (Ang saya ng buhay sa Pinas no?)
Kaya bago natin husgahan si Juday sa kanyang paliwanag ng system loss, at
bago natin awayin ang Meralco sa taas ng singil ng kuryente – - – tignan
muna natin ang pinag-uugatan ng mahal na singil!
Si Meralco lamang ba ang salarin? Or ginagamit rin lang sila ng corrupt na
gobyerno para lalo tayong pahirapan?

On December 9, 2003 the Philippine House of Representatives’ 12th Congress commended the news organization through Resolution 787[2] authored by Rep. Rodolfo Plaza for its (GMA News and Public Affairs) efforts in uplifting the standards of the Philippine broadcast industry by receiving the first George Foster Peabody Award gold medal for television news in 1999[3] and making the Philippines the first and only Asian country to received such recognition.

I agree with this surveys. Here in Canada, a lot of people are now switching to Pinoy TV. Their shows make more sense than ABS. ABs shows are nothing but cheesey and bakya. GMA makes really good documentary as the latest international awards in California proves the point. As a TFC subscriber, iam officially closed my account with them. This ABs fans here in this forum really proved my point of closing my account with TFC. I just recently acquired Pinoy TV shows and so far loving it specially SOP and Dyesebel. People in the house loved it. SOP really makes my sunday complete and more relaxing. Unlike ASAP and Wowowwee, They do nothing but scream and shout… irritating indeed. More power to Pinoy TV. I love your shows GMA.

The stampede speaks for itself (lol). Les we not forget!!! Im still closing my account with ABS a big HOAX. Its time to watch something new.

..GMA? What..? lol didn’t bandila win a really prestigious
award..? And who were at the Paris Film Festival…um, i’m
pretty sure they were from ABS-CBN. And so what if some
artists started out in GMA, so? They obviously didn’t like
it and moved to ABS, where their careers got a huge boost.
Pinoy Idol? Lame. Pure Lame. Period.
Wowowee and Eat Bulaga, I have to say are equally lame.
But more on Eat Bulaga. ha.
Where’s the humility in the fans of GMA? Uhh.. Nowhere?
Do you know why most of these posts are for GMA? Because
the fans of ABS obviously have better things to do than to
argue about something they’ve already won. Ha.
Just because these rating are what people look at, these
are just ratings, what’s important is that people enjoy
watching these shows. ABS doesn’t need to look at any
ratings to know that they’re doing a wonderful job. Its
just GMA, insecurities much? GMA totally depends on
ratings to tell them they’re good enough.
