Nationwide Urban TV Audience Measurement (NUTAM) Ratings for May 2008

If irregularities are gone in this NUTAM ratings, ABS-CBN shows could have higher ratings than this one. Although ABS-CBN still dominates NUTAM, we are not supporting this this ratings due to irregularities made by AGB and GMA-7 conspiracy.

IOLO”S FACIAL EXPRESSIONS ON LOBO’S CRUCIAL SCENES

Okay, I just had to say this, and I can’t wait for the show to finish before I start typing these words. Piolo Pascual is one magnificent actor.
Lobo is still on commercial break, but the scene before this was Noah and Lyka’s wedding. Lyka’s sudden transformation to a wolf left the wedding spectators shocked, causing them to run amok. Meanwhile, the assassin was already aiming at Noah, just waiting for the right second to pull the trigger. Trixie, Dimples Romana’s character, suddenly had a dark premonition, and yelled out that Noah indeed was being targeted. Upon Trixie’s urgent shouts, Manolo, Robert Arevalo’s character, rushed towards Noah and pulled him aside to keep him from being the bullet’s mark while exposing his own back to take the fall. The look on Noah’s face when he realized that Manolo was shot… priceless.
Piolo’s really great with those types of scenes, where one needs to convey a flurry of emotions all at the same moment. In this particular scene, his effortless blending of shock, confusion, horror, guilt, pity, and gratitude, among others, reels the audience in and tugs at the deepest corner of their hearts. Piolo has a knack for depicting very real human emotions. He has that talent of making the audience empathize with his current state of conflict, more so because of his genuine portrayal of the character. The result? Tears that seem to ceaselessly roll down the cheeks of the unaware viewers who remain transfixed on their tv screens.

i have to say i’m quite impressed with how lobo’s story is turning out. i used to watch it simultaneously with dyesebel, but the latter failed to hook me because of its so-so special effects.
i want to commend the acting of pilar pilapil, angel locsin, and piolo pascual. i especially admired angel locsin as she delivered her lines, if i do remember it correctly, “ako si lyka reymundo. anak ng itim na lobo. apo ng pinakamalakas na waya. at ako ang huling bantay.”, with such intensity that the people who would watch it would suddenly find themselves on the edge of their seats.
i used to not like piolo’s acting in his previous tv series, thinking it was much too overbearing in dramatic scenes, a tad bit overboard in facial expressions than what the story situation really calls for.
for the first time, i have come to appreciate his acting. his skills have been developed far more greater than before. his facial expressions with just the right touch of emotions, his anger showing the height and intensity of a real person if put in that same real situation. his eyes showing the enormous battle lurking in his soul of being torn between love and family.
nothing compares to that particular moment when he found out that the person he loves most deeply is of the same race as the enemies he most despise. you can very much see the shock, denial, confusion, betrayal, hurt and anger clouding inside of him, emitting through his face. they say a picture is worth a thousand words and his was a face that painted a thousand words of emotions.
kudos to the production team, writers, and directors of lobo for bringing out the very best among your actors.

they say that the man in the picture named lawrence is a fan of angel locsin and not marian, therefore pointing out his intention to ruin marian’s reputation in this so-called “set-up”.
whether he be a fan of marian or not, whether he be a fan of angel or not, that is beside the point.
he wouldn’t know how marian would react, he may guess that marian would retaliate but at the end of the day, the reaction is really up to marian.
if she had not reacted negatively to the guy, no bad reviews would be said about her. even if it was indeed a set-up, then she would still have avoided any intrigues if she had let her assistant or the production crew handle the guy.
she’s a celebrity, she should know that not all people who surrounds her like her at all, so she should be careful with her actions and learn to control her emotions.
and another point is, what the guy did is such a petty thing for marian to react that way and sink to his level. she’s not yet a big star who has proven her worth time and again to surpass negative intrigues and still have viewers love her inspite and in despite of.
a lot of people are still weighing in on the fact if she’s worthy enough for their attention and support and this incident did not help at all in getting more fans, it just turned off would-be fans like myself.

THE BEST
GMA Network has established the world-class quality of its programs and talents as it garnered several honors in the Asian Television Awards 2005, the first of which is the award for The Terrestrial Channel of the Year, which GMA Network President and CEO Felipe L. Gozon personally received.
The awards ceremony was held at the University Cultural Centre (UCC), National University of Singapore last December 1.
Since this is the first time a Philippine TV network was given this award, it is not only an honor for GMA Network but for the Philippines as well, according to Gozon.
GMA also won in four other categories and got high commendations in six others.
GMA Network bested other networks from the 14 participating countries in the awards, including Japan, India, South Korea, China (including Hong Kong SAR), Singapore, Bangladesh, Malaysia, Pakistan, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Taiwan, and Vietnam.
From about 1,500 entries received from 129 companies in these countries to vie for awards in 33 categories, ten of GMA-7’s programs and talents were recognized and given high commendations.

As far as I can remember, since I got married in 1955, my wife and I have moved from one place to another seven or eight times already. And every time we moved to a new place, we had to pay Meralco a deposit—the equivalent of two months water consumption, if I remember correctly.
Thus, Justice Secretary Raul Gonzalez opened a can of worms when he asked where the deposits of millions of Meralco consumers are going.
Come to think of it, where indeed are those deposits from millions of Meralco consumers? To a degree, those deposits partake of trust funds from consumers which must be refunded to them when they change address. I’ve never gotten any refund whatsoever. Other Meralco consumers must likewise be wondering what happened to their deposits, which must be running up to the billions by now.
If those billions of pesos come from consumers, Meralco cannot by any law have deposited them into their accounts since that would constitute estafa. And since those deposits are now in the billions, is Meralco using them for its own benefit? If so, that’s a heinous crime.
Another related question that comes up with the misuse of Meralco customers’ money is that the Supreme Court has mandated a refund after it caught the Lopezes charging consumers for the payment of Meralco’s income taxes. That was some years ago. Until now, Meralco has not fully complied with the High Court’s order.
And again I ask: Why hasn’t Meralco paid any interest on those refunds since they had used billions worth of consumers’ money for their benefit?
Santa Banana, all these should not be lost on the Senate. Ask these questions, lest Meralco get away with murder.

Kids, teens influence TV programming —Nielsen(from Manila bulletin)
Major television networks in the Philippines have shifted to producing content designed for young audiences, which now account for more than 41 percent of TV viewers nationwide.
Media research firm AGB Nielsen, the leading company involved in television audience measurement (TAM), said kids comprised 27 percent of TV audience in the Philippines in the first quarter of 2008. Teenagers accounted for 14 percent of the total during the period.
Together, kids and teenagers represented 41 percent of national TV audience during the January-March period, when both ABS-CBN and GMA Network featured mostly “telefantasya” series in their prime time programming.
In the said quarter, ABS-CBN produced high-rating shows such as Kung Fu Kids, Lobo and Palos while GMA Network broadcast Joaquin Bordado, Kamandag and Marimar that appealed to young audiences.
The expanding share of young audiences in national TV viewers is among the findings of AGB Nielsen, which regularly monitors the television viewing habits of more than 34 million Filipinos in urban areas around the country through the so-called National Urban Television Audience Measurement (NUTAM).
AGB Nielsen’s NUTAM panel covers 1,630 homes representing more than 34 million individuals from 7.4 households in urban areas across the country. It has the widest coverage in Philippine TV research history.
The NUTAM panel covers 95 percent of the urban household population, based on the 2000 census of population and 2008 projections from the National Statistics Office. The remaining 5 percent are areas in Regions 9, 12 and the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao, which were excluded for security reasons.
The panel is selected based on the results of an annual National Urban Establishment Survey.
Through this panel, AGB Nielsen found that an urban household in the Philippines has the TV set on for an average of 7.3 hours a day. On the average, a family member watches TV for about 3.4 hours a day.
In the first quarter of 2008, there was an average of 4.9 million viewers across urban areas in the country on a 24-hour basis.
The number of viewers was found to have increased to 7.6 million or 22 percent of the urban population during the noontime hour of 12:30 to 1:30 and to 13.4 million, or 38 percent of the population, during the primetime hour of 8 to 9 p.m.
AGB Nielsen Media Research is the world’s leading TAM company with more than 42,000 homes participating in its panels across more than 28 countries.
AGB Nielsen pioneered the use of some research technologies in the Philippines called PeopleMeter, Pollux and Arianna to survey the public’s viewing behaviour every minute, process the data and interpret them on a daily basis.
PeopleMeter is a device installed in a Panel member’s TV set which records who is watching, what channel is being watched, and the exact time and duration of viewing of such channel while Pollux electronically transmits this set of data for processing daily.
Arianna is a computer-based application with sophisticated reporting capabilities for data analysis and report generation.

It only shows that GMA rules the Philippine network now. As you could notice the poll says 65% agree that GMA is the BEST and the EBS is the REST. Peace! It only shows that most people are watching the Kapuso shows nationwide or wherever in the world where there is GMA Pinoy TV. I really like GMA because of it’s CREDIBILITY. I think that’s very important and that’s also my basis that’s why I can say that GMA is the BEST. GMA-7 RULES!!!!
Now and Forever ako GMA 7, nasa Kinatarcan Island of Cebu pa lang ako, GMA 7 na talga ako, kahit iyong tv na pinanonoud ko sa aming kapitbahay ang black in white pa lang. Nakikisaw saw pa nga ako sa mga kapitbahay namin eh, dahil sa wala pa kaming tv noon. At kapag iba iyong station na pinapanood nila, itinulog ko na lang iyong oras ko kaysa manood ng ibang station kasi inaabangan ko tlga bawat show nila. Naiiyak pa ako kapag meron akong episode na di napapanood pero dahil sa marami akong mga friends din na nakapanood sa oras na hindi ako nakapanood, nakikibalita na lang din ako sa mga friends ko. Kaya di nila kayang lampasan ng kahit sino o ano iyong pagiging GMA 7 follower ko.

Pero pag 7 na balik agad. Nakakatuwa tlga history ng pagiging GMA ko..i love it. kasi napapaligaya at nabibigyan nila (GMA 7) nang kasayahan ang bawat mamamayan na nanonood ng shows nila. GO GMA..
NODOUBT, GMA 7 KAPUSO reigns now. It used to be ABS. And GMA accepted it without any complaints. But now that GMA is NO.1, ABS complains. Sana maging sport sila sa pag-accept ng katotohanan. GMA deserves to be in the no.1 position because of its good shows and concepts. Taong bayan ang nag-dedecide. Napag-daanan na naman ng ABS ang maging no.1 noon.
And one thing I hate about ABS, they love to pirate GMA talents na sumisikat pa lang. Ang dami niyan. It has been proven na they will offer them with much bigger talent fees para lumipat. ABS should build their own at sangkatutak na ang artista nila, nakukuha pang mamirata. Be fair to GMA na taon din ang hinitay para marating ang kinalalagyan nila ngayon.

i love watching kapuso shows in the morning like doraemon and pokemon because these cartoons are the most-watched cartoon series and it’s funny and educational.
i also loved watching kontrapelo: sa pula o sa puti because i enjoyed when two opposite teams are arguing with each other. the host are joker’s and they are very funny.
i also watch dramarama sa hapon: daisy siete, maging akin ka lamang and kaputol ng isang awit because even though they are remakes, they maintained the original story and the story is quite not short, so televiewers can enjoy watching. the genre’s are different. they have funny-drama, light-drama, heavy-drama and singing-drama, also coffee prince and camera cafe which entertains televiewers.
i also watch gma telebabad: 24 oras they have very reliable and straight-to-the-point news and they have good choice of newscasters. i can’t watch joaquin bordado because “kasabay nito” is rosalinda, which will be a remake of gma. ut at 8:45 i am not changing tv stations because i am very exciting with the love story of dyesebel. b.a.d.k. also i love it.

mas maganda talaga ang GMA now, kc noon una parang medyo may pagkabaduy… ang pinapanuod ko lang noon ay ang animes nila at ito ang dahilan kun bakit nagwatch ako ng GMA… simula ng nagkafantasy, gumanda ang shows nila. ngayun pinapanuod ko na drama, variety, comedy, at reality nila… may hook factor kc. hehehe.
Survivor sana maganda (excited!). Ang Pinoy Idol, parang naging exciting ata… pero may personal na dislikes pa rin ako sa show na ito, medyo frustrating ang host, ang stage atbp. Pero i prefer the idol format keysa sa kabilang talent search.
Bubble Gang is still funny, kahit korny ginagawa nilang funny. ewan, nasanay na sa mga nagpapatawa. Animes please until the end… sana laging update episodes esp ang ONE PIECE atbp anime. gusto ko filipino version kaysa sa magbasa nalang ng subtitles through online streaming.
Sa madaling salita, I am happy with GMA right now… sana galingan pa para mas happy pa buhay ko at ng bawat Pilipino.

Metro Manila and suburbs have 15.9 million of viewers, Mega Manila has 17.9 million of viewers, Mage TAM markets has 13 million of viewers, lahat ng yan NUMBER 1 ang GMA!
Yung NUTAm na may 16 million of viewers, ayan lang ang nakuha ng ABS, dun lang sila nagnanumber 1! At hindi na nila solo ang NUTAM ngayun ksi pinapantayan na rin sila ng GMA! UNEXPECTEDLY, lumalaban na ang GMA sa NUTAM ngayun!

for your information sa edad kong ito may alam din ako sa mga pinag uugatan ng mga kaguluhang ito, mga yabangan sa ratings at agawan ng pagiging #1!
nag umpisa kasi ito ng dahil sa isang station…ito ay ang ABSCBN!!! daba dati ala namang ganito pero simula ng mauso ang mga contracts sa mga stations eh nagkagulo na! look GMA started almost everything, sa pagbuild up ng talents, gaya ng that’s entertainment! all the talents of GMA before don’t have contracts and they “ALLOW” their talents to guest in other stations di ba may mga shows ang GMA talents dati sa RPN IBC and ABS, pero simula ng nagpasimula ang ABSCBN ng contracts doon na nag-umpisa ang bawal maguest sa rival station…ABS CBN din ang nag umpisa ng damutan ng talents….bakit dati yung mga talents ng GMA pinapayagan nila na mag guest sa ABS tapos yung talent mg ANS ndi pinapayagan na mag guest sa GMA…naging makasarili at madamot ang ABS….DON NAG UMPISA ANG NETWORK WAR O DAMUTAN NG TALENTS>>>

99.9% population sa mega manila ang may tv..at 75% lng sa vis-min ang may tv..i knew it kc po researcher ako ng dost at parati po kming on tour sa mga provinces..khit iba yung survey nmin,nkikita pa din nmin na hindi lahat ng bahay sa province ay may tv at can watch their fav.show…kakaawa ang pamilyang upto this day ay walang tv…

Nakita ko sa CNN at sa GMA7. it was a news. affected ang other local network and journalists sa nangyari! syempre ba naman, lahat nabahiran! parang what abs-cbn did was an affirmation na filipinos are manloloko talaga! pwe!
GLOBAL MANLOLOKO ang ABS-CBN! at di nakaligtas sa kanilang natural instinct ang CNN and its worldwide viewers!
months before the 2000 countdown celebration, may bagyo at may barkong nalunod! it was a tragedy!
at para lang masabing mabilis sila magbigay ng feed, what abs-cbn did is that they feed CNN with an old video coverage sa isang sea tragedy na nangyari over a decade ago! and they claimed it na yon na ang recent coverage!
pero hindi po tanga ang CNN! they found out that the video feed is old coverage!
result? CNN cancelled their partnership with abs-cbn sa 2000 countdown celebration!
isang malaking kahihiyan! its global kahihiyan ang ginawa nila!

na nag-sabi na yung sinapit ni Ces sana ay hindi mangyari sa atin.

Bakit ganon WATCH ako ng News both channel TFC at PINOYTV……para sa coverage ng Kidnap kina CES sabi ng ABS 9 days sa kamay ng mga kidnaper doon naman sa 24 oras 10 days… tapos sabi ng ABS no Ransom money, sabi ng 24 oras mayroon sino ang Bias at Liar sa pagbabalita…wala akong tiwala sa News ng ABS-TFC kaya sa Pinoytv nalang ako nanonood, walang kinikilingan at walang prinoprotektahan…..ABS-TFC magbago na kayo……..
No wonder ganun na lang ang impressions ng mga foreigner sa mga pinoy. Pinalala pa ng ABS. parang pinatunayan pa ganun taung mga pinoy.
Sa japan alam mo ba trademark ng mga pinoy?
ang trademark nila sa mga pinoy ay cnungaling.
