Two new Filipino boxers had won world championships in the United States and Indonesia.

Florante Condes, also known as the “Little Pacquiao” won via split decision thus capturing the International Boxing Federation mini-flyweight (105-pound) crown from the champion Muhammad Rachman, last Saturday at Jakarta, Indonesia.

Filipino-American Nonito Donaire knocked out Vic Darchinyan, the previously undefeated IBF and International Boxing Organization flyweight champion, in the fifth round of their scheduled 12-rounder.

These men have been described as underdogs by the press but still had proven to the world that they belonged to the league of champions.
