President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo visits Cory Aquino’s wake
Posted by: iostream @ 12:00 pm in: News & Current Events (697 views) August 5th, 2009Philippine President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo visited the wake of Former President Cory Aquino early Wednesday morning at the Manila Cathedral.
After her arrival at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport, the President headed straight to the wake of Cory Aquino at the Manila Cathedral. She arrived at the church around 3:42 a.m. and left at 3:49 a.m. Cory Aquino’s only son, Senator Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III welcomed the President at the church. The President was supposed to stay for 30 minutes, but she left the church earlier than expected because the public viewing of Mrs. Aquino’s remains was stopped during her visit. The President gave no statement to the media.
