This 17-year-old lady from Davao was the former Miss Teen Mindanao 2007 title holder and was the 1st Runner Up for Miss Teen Philippines in 2007.

oh really my watch TV for PBB night, i not aware about your identify deaf or hearing impaired, oral deaf? i will suggest that must group PBB for deaf but not include hearing of the PBB. Rights, PBB group deaf and PBB group hearing interact.

napanuod ko na yung kanyang Q&A portion niya sa MS. TEEN PHIL.. Di nya talaga narinig.. also yung director ang nagguide sa kanya hanggang sa matapos ang pageant.. Deserving talga ang nanalo sa Ms. Teen Phil 2007 kasi ang ganda ng sagot niya kaya no doubt hanggang 1st runner up lang si Priscilla..

Sunflower, Priscilla is tying to live a normal life. If she prefers lip reading, let her be. Besides, it’s pretty obvious that you are having a hard time speaking good English so better speak in tagalog and/or any other language where you can sensibly express your thoughts. Just my two cents.

There’s a lot more than being a Deaf Person. If Priscilla is a proud Deaf then she should be using sign Language as her natural language and not oral and lip reading, if she knows for a fact that she cannot hear, how can she be sure that she understands 100% what other people around her say by just depending on lip reading…she should be given an access to her rights as a Deaf (Close caption, Interpreter,and lights to let her know that kuya is giving an instruction). As to my English, I am Deaf and Deaf People do not mainly depend on written english, it is in the Deaf Culture that we have our own grammatical compostion and syntax. and Deaf Language is not English but Sign Language. Its best that you make a good research or talk to scholars from U.P. so that you will have a better understanding about the Deaf Culture. And taking the point of- IlovePriscilla “kaso kagabi kawawa xa di niya alam kung ano yung cnabi ni kuya.. tsktsk..” that is what i was trying to tell, why force herself to lip read when she would not be able to comprehend all? she will just look stupid if she continues pretending that she understands all. it would be better if priscilla would be humble enough to ask someone to be as her interpreter. or better yet teach other housemates basic sign language. she was once a hearing person, but now that God made her Deaf she should be pround to use our language and be one of the advocates for the Deaf. This is not about who writes the best english or writes the best verb-subject agreement..this is about Priscilla’s rights as a Beautiful Deaf Person.

The reason for this is that she is late deafened. she maybe not a profound Deaf but Hard-of-hearing..a Hard-of-hearing person will not be able to hear withour the help of a hearing aid.

Who the hell is the real sunflower? I prefer the one who speaks her (assuming… unless sunflower is a boy?
) mind more intelligently. Though I don’t agree with the ‘using sign-language’ = ‘proud of being deaf’ crap. She can choose ANY method she wants to, its not as if either will be harmful… let her realize and come to a decision on her own that there will be a time when she may need to use sign language. Don’t give her bs just because she learned how to lip read (which imo is a harder process to master) and chose to cope with her disability and and live a normal life in that manner.
To the other sunflower, BEFORE you criticize someone for choosing her own mode of communication, please make sure that you’re own way is understandable as well. It kind of defeats the purpose of communicating at all, if no one seems to understand you.

it is very obvious that you are not very well educated..and judging from how you speak you don’t own fine manners…and why bring up GMA kapuso who is also doing their advocacy for the Deaf? both ABS-CBN and GMA are doing their best to help the Deaf Community..let us just focus on the issue here..The Deaf girl Priscilla who is has not yet fully accepted her Deafness and is confused with her true identity..will she be a Deaf or Hearing?

yes it is one of the communication being used..i did not say it was not…i was just expressing my thoughts addressed to priscilla..if she really wants to get the sympathy of the Deaf Community..start with her self…she should be proud and use the Deaf Language..

what is up with this sudden concern for the deaf and mute audiences?
tapatin mo nga ako, ilang programa ba sa buong mundo ang gumagamit ng sign language to accommodate the deaf and mute audiences?
it seems to me na wala sa personality ni priscilla na magpaawa effect dahil sa kalagayan nya and i am sure wala syang intention na ikahiya ang pagiging deaf nya at ang paggamit ng sign language.
besides, lip reading is more challenging for deaf and mute people to use and that is why only few of our deaf and mute brothers and sisters would ever use it over sign language.

sunflower i just want to comment about what you have just said in the above statement.. whats the big deal if she uses lipreading to communicate with others.. i mean she’s not in a special school here in davao anyway.. she lived her life in a simple way where everyone of her friends understand her and like her.. she’s such a nice gurl so if you dont mind stop talking about her disability its not making sense and beside if the issue is all about imparedness then all of them must be impared anyway!

For those who somehow missed several seconds of PBB Teen Edition Plus, it was further clarified by Priscilla, that:
1. She has a hearing impairment. Her condition can be considered as if she is “partially-deaf” because she mentioned to Big Brother and Beauty, that she can still hear but the audition of voices, music, and any other noises or sounds are not that clear.
2. Scientifically, those who have impairment with the senses will eventually adopt a mechanism in which the whole system(person) will increase functionality. Lip reading is the mechanism that Priscilla chose to adopt. It requires keen sense of sight and analysis. So that only means, we cannot impose or direct Priscilla on what to do if lip reading is her personal choice.
Using sign-language will be hard cause we and most probably she, are not well-aware who amongst the housemates are able to understand sign language or at least able to use it to communicate.
Again, the show is a on a “reality” genre. Things can be contolled within the house but then again, pre-disposed acculturation, language, mannerisms, skills, and knowledge are all innate to each individual.
We cannot pre-empt what will Big Brother do to his Housemates. Again, if he decides to implement the sign language thing, he will surely do it.
More so, if you are writing a commentary, especially blogs, please watch your grammar and usages.
Blood continuously runs out of my nose whenever I read negative comments from those who can’t even express themselves correctly.
Again, Priscilla is Priscilla. The impairment is just a challenge.
I am glad that this batch of Teen Housemates, came from the true MASA. I can generalize that this season’s selection is far more better than the first one, with Kim Chu.

Hahahays… May mga tao talagang mga engot at kung sinong magaling at perpekto.. At feeler rin dahil akala nila, sila ang pinakamatalino at perpekto na nilikha ng Diyos.. Sana rin noh.. kayo rin maging katulad ni Priscilla ni hindi nakakarinig at kahit ganun ang kanyang kundisyon ay nakikisama pa rin siya.. Kamangha-mangha talaga.. Para kayong mga taga-Nazi na tinatapon ang mga differently abled persons dahil wala nang pakinabang. Sana sumapain kayo ng mga demonyo man o ang Diyos na ang bahala sa inyo..
Mga tanga talaga ang mga taong ito.. Sa tingin niyo bakit pa pumasok si Prsicilla kahit di siya nakakarinig at kung iniisip man niya na siya ay pabigat sa bahay?? Yun ay ang kanyang pangarap diba na makisama ba sa ibang housemates. At gusto nga niya rin tulungan ang kanyang pamilya..
Huwag nga kayong humusga agad.. Kung ginagamit man ni Prisilla ang kangyang kapansanan, hello ang hirap kaya kung may mga taong iniinsulto ba o binubully ang isang bingi at kung m
