Sen. Loren Legarda urges to shut down boybastos.com
Posted by: iostream @ 6:23 pm in: Computer & Internet (4,067 views) September 6th, 2007Opposition senator, Loren Legarda has asked Inter-Agency Council Against Trafficking (IACAT) and the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) to immediately shut down the premiere obscene portal of the Philippines, www.boybastos.com.
Boybastos is an Internet portal that provides the Internet users including minors, a free and unrestricted access to “extremely hardcore pornographic materials” of different Filipino women and girls. With this, Legarda wants the authorities to arrest and penalize the people behind the operation of the site.
Senate Bill 1375, the proposed Anti-Computer Pornography Act, which seeks to reinforce the war on electronic smut is authored by Senator Loren Legarda. Under the bill, peddlers of online porn and other “indecent materials” would be penalized with up to six years in prison or a fine of as much as P500,000, or both.

Mabuhay ka Loren Legarda! Dapat lang na protektahan natin ang lahat ng kababaihan lalung-lalo na ang mga kabataan. Higit sa lahat dapat nating pangalagaan ang imahe ng Pilipinas. Kapag hindi natin pinigilan ito ay lalong sasama ang tingin ng mga taga ibang bansa sa atin. This news article says that BILL 1375 is still a proposed BILL. How come they are already enforcing it? Is porn illegal in the Philippines? And if it is, does it make it illegal to have porn in one’s PC?

i honestly visit iyot. i won’t hide that. What have i got to lose anyway i’m not exactly posting any personal info. but if i remember right, the site did have messages all over it containing blah blah, if you’re 18, do not go here yadda yadda. If you’re hosting a free site, that’s pretty much all you can do for security. di naman nagkulang yung site doon. image? america has more porn than us. russia has more porn than us. germany has more than us. japan has way way more than us. they even do weirder things than us. and those are countries way way over the philippines. let me tell you what the current image is. image is that the lawmakers in the philippines would rather bother on making announcements on these things than fix themselves. sure. at least may ginawa. tama kayo dyan. it’s always better to start from somewhere. but….they’ve been in their seats for some time now and….they haven’t really started shit yet. hanggang dyan na lang ba sila? in other words, don’t they have something else better to do? i mean sure. take down the site. i’ll jsut get my fix somewhere else. probably a server being hosted in another country. and yes i’m sick. but we’re all sick here of lawmakers doing …well…look up. because that’s all we can do right now in this country. always look up.
