Maguindanao election supervisor, Lintang Bedol, has been arrested and will be presented before the Commission on Elections en banc within 24 hours after his arrest.

Philippine National Police chief, Director General Oscar Calderon avoided to give specific details regarding Bedol’s arrest and to where the official is being kept.

Autonomous Region of Muslim Mindanao police director, Chief Superintendent Joel Goltiao said that Bedol underwent a minor eye operation in a clinic in Maguindanao and was arrested there Sunday midnight.

COMELEC en banc issued the arrest order for Bedol last Saturday after the latter repeatedly refused to attend hearings about the alleged electoral irregularities in Maguindanao. The arrest order gave the police until July 3 to present Bedol.
