Regine Velasquez controversy
During David Archuleta’s arrival in the Philippines, several blogs reported that the singer was fascinated with Filipina singer Regine Velasquez. Velasquez, who failed to impress Clive Davis and Simon Cowell with a demo of twelve songs, was rejected and sought for redemption in an Archuleta publicity instead. In Archuleta’s official Twitter,[44]
Archuleta officially confirmed that it was Filipina singer Charice who captured his attention the most
, after seeing her perform “Note to God” in Oprah and meeting her in Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade,
and not Velasquez,
who was only mentioned to his team by Jomari Yllana, a concert promoter in the Philippines, five minutes after his arrival in Manila.[45] Archuleta went on to say that he purchased Charice’s single the day it was released.
Also, Archuleta’s publicists confirmed that the Velasquez issue was a CONTRACTUAL PUBLICITY agreement during the tour between GMA’s Cacai Velasquez-Mitra, concert promoter Jomari Yllana, and Archuleta’s team,
and that Velasquez should be mentioned in his public appearances in the country, to boost Velasquez’ dismal exposure in the international scene.
During his entire stay, Archuleta was forced to appreciate Velasquez during his press conferences, as part of the contract[46].
Until now, Velasquez’ representatives refuse to comment on their alleged fraud to deceive Filipino fans.!!

‘Adik Sa ‘Yo’ Registers Lowest GMA Debut in 5 Years
Adik Sa ‘Yo trumped Atlantika and All About Eve for getting the lowest pilot episode of a GMA show since 2005.
The romantic comedy series starring Jolina Magdangal, Dennis Trillo, Jennica Garcia and Marvin Agustin garnered a very low pilot rating of 25.4% erasing the record low 25.5% pilot rating of Atlantika last Oct. 3, 2006.
Last March 9, 2009, the pilot episode of GMA’s adaptation of the koreanovela “All About Eve” placed 2nd to the all-time lowest with 26.1% rating in Mega Manila. Now the all-time lowest pilot episode of a GMA primetime series belongs to Adik Sa ‘Yo, the second lowest is now Atlantika while the 3rd lowest is All About Eve.
Another GMA program debuted modestly yesterday. The Sine Novela Ngayon at Kailanman starring Heart Evangelista and JC de Vera registered 21.1% which is good for 3rd place in the daytime race. Dapat Ka Bang Mahalin? remains no. 1 while Eat Bulaga captured the 2nd spot.

Adik Sa ‘Yo trumped Atlantika and All About Eve for getting the lowest pilot episode of a GMA show since 2005.

sabi ng isa diyan remake daw mg show’s n Gma 7, eh sila nga tuwang tuwa dahil ireremake din ng Abs cbn ang Meteor Garden, yung mga ibang korea nobelas’ Abs cbn may remake din…..yukssss talaga, hindi niyo tinitignan kung ano ginagwa ng Abs cbn bago punahin ang iba…..ganyan talaga khit ano man kasi gawin ng Abs cbn ay hindi matanggap ng nakakarami sa MEga manila

Sa inilabas ng TNS Media Research na national TV ratings para sa araw ng Monday, June 15 ay nakakuha ang May Bukas Pa ng 41.3%. Makailang gabi na ring pumapalo sa 40% ang ratings ng very inspiring na primetime teleserye. Samantala, patuloy na nahuhumaling ang buong bayan sa love story nina Jan Di at Jun Pyo sa Boys Over Flowers. Nakakuha ang Koreanovela ng 30.3%, mas mataas pa sa mga primetime teleserye ng kabilang network.

ABS-CBN Philippines launches High Definition with Sony HDC-1400 High Definition Portable Studio Cameras
LAS VEGAS (NAB Booth #C11001) April 19, 2009 – ABS-CBN Philippines, Asia’s first commercial television broadcaster, has just announced its intention to acquire 24 Sony HDC-1400R HD portable studio cameras. ABS-CBN is upgrading its studio facility at Quezon City, north of Manila, from SD to HD and Sony was the obvious choice.
ABS-CBN owns the biggest cable network in the Philippines and is involved in the production of television programming for domestic and international audiences. They deliver content around the world to countries including North America, Europe and the Middle East.
The decision to upgrade to high definition was based on the increasing demand for high definition content from their domestic audiences and those that they export to around the globe. ABS-CBN is at the forefront of broadcasting in the Philippines and is the first to invest in Sony high definition studio cameras.
Although Sony has a long history of working alongside the network, ABS-CBN evaluated a number of products from other suppliers too. The decision to go with Sony was made even easier when their technical evaluation team saw the stunning picture quality delivered by the Sony HDC camera. Laking tuwa ng Wowowee host na si Willie Revillame maging ng buong production staff, crew at talents nang makitang punung-puno ang Araneta Coliseum noong nakaraang Wowowee-lympics kasama ang Star Magic artists.
Nakalikom sila ng 13,000 tiket kaya halos P800,000 ang kanilang naibigay na pera para sa charity.

BS-CBN First Quarter Income 2009 Down By 21% From Last Year
Consolidated airtime revenues of P2.76 billion in the first quarter reflect an overall 2% decline from the same period last year. The company was able to maintain advertising rates at acceptable levels, such that airtime revenues from parent company of P2.52 billion slipped by only 5% from last year’s level, even if advertising minutes of Channel 2 are reported to have declined by as much as 20%.
Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) for the first three months of the year reached P1.35 billion, 31% higher than EBITDA in the first quarter of 2008, registering an EBITDA margin of 26%. Net income attributable to shareholders of parent company for the first quarter of 2009 amounted to P191 million, 21% lower than the net income of P242 million in the first quarter of 2008.

Hay naku..napanood ko din ang ocncert nila piolo, sam john lloyd , be ata pokwanh dto naman sa edmonton canada..Ang start ng show e 6:30 pero napanoodk o sila mag 8 pm na…nagkaroon pa ng patawang awards night ang mga bumuo ng walang kwentang show..anyway, i liked pokwang, pero mas natuwa ako sa show nila tuko when went here with toni gonzaga and eric santaos.. OKay here’s what happend. Si sam milby muna ang lumbas after pokwang, tapos haltang pagod kasi nga galing pa sila toronot, so medyo nahihirapan kumanta…pero i’ve lawyas admired sam kasi he always makes an effort an effort na bumaba ng stage at pumunta sa likod kya lang mga dyaskeng fans kagaya ko pinagkakaguluhan kagad sa harap d na tuloy nkakarating likod..but he’s always been nice and frendly sa mga tao..i like bea, although i did’nt like her first outfit, nkaa jump suit effect pero nagmukhna sako ang daitng..but sh’es very pretty nad parang mahiyain sya..unlike toni when she was here. tpoas si john lloyd, he was very funny, i liked him, last to go on stage, syempre ang artistang si piolo pascual….i just feel sorry para sa mga fans who were really excited to see him, i know “the piolo pascual” but he didn’t make any effort na maka reach out sa mga fans nya, everytime he would stretch his hands sa audience parang napipilitan lang sya… but i don’t wanna judge him kasi nga i know a lot of people na suplado, but once you get to know thme, ok anamn pla..which is kelan pa ma geet know more ng fans si piolo. I just think na he could’ve been more frinedly kagaya ni sam…in short i was disappointed, and not only me but everyone I know who went to the concert. and mind you edmonton has a small filipino cxommunity so halos magkakakilala lahat. Everyone was disappointed tlg. mostly because of the fact that the ticket prices are exactly as that of beyonce’s and mariah careys’ concert here before. front row seats payun ha..i understand naman na it’s because mahal ang bayad sa kanila na pumunta sa canada daihl airfare pa lang talo na yung promoters..but they could’ve at least given the people a decent show. yung may practice naman saka may magandang production number, d yung parang bday party lang pinuntahan mo..
but the worst part for me was the fact that i brought my dvd of one more chance at the concert because i wanted john lloyd and bea to sign, only to find out in the end na they would only sign cds that you had to buy in the concert which was priced ridiculously high. grabe naman..ang hirap kumita ng pera dto..the $125 i paid was hard earned money and i didn’t even enjoy….
pero i don’t blame the artists. i blame the people who keeps brining them here para alng kumita ng dollars even if the show’s awful.. in fairness, iloved toni gonzaga and eric santos’ concert kasi they both sing well…

I watched SNN with Kris Aquino and Boy Abunda. They claimed that the Canada show of Sam Milby, Bea Alonzo, Piolo Pascual , Pokwang and John LLoyd is a big hit. This is a big lie. I felt cheated of my hard earned money. These group are a boring bunch. The show is boring. Para silang pagod na pagod at walang kagana gana. We came to watch a show. Hindi naidaraan sa pa cute cute. Maraming guwapo at maganda rito. We want to see a show and not so much of the actors and actresses. Laking panghihinayang namin. On the other hand, we also saw the show that featured both Toni Gonzaga and Erik Santos. These two are a pro. Sulit na sulit ang ibinayad namin. We became avid fans of these two. We hope that they come back again. The consensus here with our friends in the filipino community is that they preferred the show of Toni and Erik. Manunuod uli kami nang show nila. Pera kay Piolo, Bea. Sam etc. . .we may have to think twice. Siguro, huwag na lang.

Survey says GMA-7 is most credible news organization

Leading broadcast company GMA Network appears to be the more credible news organization. That’s according to television audiences in Metro Manila.
In a survey conducted recently by Pulse Asia, the network has scored a very high credibility rating among respondents.
Pulse Asia’s July 2006 “Ulat ng Bayan” survey reported that GMA Network registered a high trust rating of 70 percent in Metro Manila. ABS-CBN registered a rating of 59 percent.
The Network’s overall trust rating across the country also slightly improved, with Mindanao posting the most significant gain of 13 points. More impressively, according to the survey, public distrust for the Network significantly declined across the country to a mere 7 percent.
Meanwhile, Pulse Asia’s probe on GMA Network’s News and Public Affairs programs revealed that seven out of 10 Filipinos nationwide find the programs credible. As in the case of its perceived trustworthiness, Pulse Asia reported that GMA Network registered its highest credibility rating in Metro Manila at 81 percent.
GMA News and Public Affairs top-rating programs include primetime newscast 24 Oras, Saksi, I-Witness, Reporter’s Notebook, 100% Pinoy, Debate, Emergency, Imbestigador, Kapuso Mo Jessica Soho, among others.
According to Pulse Asia, the country’s urban centers deliver a higher credibility for the Network’s news and public affairs programs at 75 percent than the rural areas taken as a whole, which posted 63 percent.
It is also interesting to note that the younger age groups appear to have a more positive view of GMA Network’s news programs. GMA Network recorded a 76-percent credibility rating among the 18-to- 34-years-old age group.
GMA Network also posted a higher credibility rating among college graduates at 76 percent than among those with an elementary education at best (64 percent).
Pulse Asia also reported that across the country, television is most cited by the respondents as their primary source of news at 85 percent

Let see who’s really telling the truth? TNS may be new compare AGB Nielsen who’s been in the industry for years now. The only thing that I just wondered is that, why AGB Nielsen only shows the ratings in Mega Manila alone. Why can’t they show the tv ratings nationwide? Sabi nila, they have over 17 big companys that subscribes to them. Me as a subscriber and a televiewer I deserve to know kung ano talaga ang totoo. I just don’t want to know about what’s going on in Mega Manila alone. Same as, I don’t want to know what’s the TV ratings in Mega Manila, I also want to know the ratings Nationwide. Fair and simple. Prove to your subscribers that your fair and just. Your just showing that your just one sided, sa GMA. Not compare to TNS, both Mega Manila and Nationwide ratings, pinapakita nila. Whether mataas man o mababa ang ratings ng either GMA o ABS eh, they still show it to the people. Diba, ganun dapat? Ang importante naman sa amin eh to know the truth. Kapamilya ako, yes. I don’t care sa sinasabi ng ratings. What’s important to me is that kung sino talaga ang no# 1 sa akin. But telling me a wrong information, full yourself.

TRT files complaint against ratings firm

The Turkish Radio and Television Corporation (TRT) has filed a complaint with the Competi tion Board against the Television Audience Research Committee (TİAK) and AGB Nielsen, accusing the latter — the only company that collects popularity ratings for TV programming in Turkey — of manipulating the data it supplies.
The Anatolia news agency reported yesterday that the TRT Directorate General filed a complaint on June 16 pursuant to the Law on the Protection of Competi tion. The TRT cited “TİAK’s awarding of the ratings contract solely to AGB for many years and AGB’s alleged irregularities in its selection of panel members, changes to panels and processing of raw data” as the reasons for its complaint.
Two weeks ago, the TRT Directorate General filed a criminal complaint against TİAK and AGB Nielsen with the Ankara Public Prosecutor’s Office. The TRT has also requested that the Radio and Television Supreme Council (RTÜK) exercise its authority to issue an official statement regarding the situation and institute a system to verify AGB Nielsen ratings data.

Since I was told that similar merchandise containing the flag were being openly sold to the public in time for Independence Day, I had mistakenly believed that it was fitting to use the gloves for our June 12 episode. If there was anything improper in my having used the gloves, it was not deliberate on my part, and I sincerely apologize for my error. I will make sure not to commit the same mistake.

ABS-CBN to shift to digital technology
At a recent trade show at the NBC Tent to introduce its upcoming programs, ABS-CBN announced it is shifting to digital technology this June. ABS-CBN’s signal in the Mega Manila area has always been weak, giving competitor GMA Network a big edge in ratings and advertising income because of its superior frequency in the area, thus, shifting to digital technology will give ABS-CBN a better signal when it comes to Mega Manila area . Digital Terrestrial Television (DTT) is now available in the US and already ceased all analog television transmissions since last June 12. This move also means the shifting of ABS-CBN to digital technology.

MANILA, Philippines – In the 25th Philippine Movie Press Club (PMPC) Star Awards for movies, the Kapamilya network’s Star Cinema and Cinema One bagged several awards for the films they produced last year.
Held at the Henry Lee Irwin Theatre of Ateneo de Manila University, the stage was dominated by the color silver in line with the prestigious award-giving body’s silver year of honoring the best in the movie industry. Hosted by Maricel Soriano, Cesar Montano and Ai-Ai delas Alas, the event was made even more glamorous with special numbers by Sarah Geronimo, KC Concepcion, Tony Gonzaga and Ronnie Liang and other guests. Various celebrities participated as presenters in the various awards.
The Ulirang Artista award went to Vilma Santos who received the award, thanking all her friends and co-wokers in the industry and of course, her family.
PMPC president Roldan Castro along with the PMPC’s officers and members congratulated all the winners and encouraged them to continually excel in their craft, assuring everyone that they will continue to recognize Filipino talent to keep the film industry alive.
Kapamilya winners are Movie Actress of the Year: Sharon Cuneta (Caregiver); New Movie Actress of the Year: KC Concepcion (For the First Time); Digital Movie of the Year: Yanggaw (Cinema One Originals entry); Digital Movie Director of the Year: Richard Somes (Cinema One Originals entry Yanggaw);Digital Movie Production Designer of the Year: Michael Espanol, Donald Camon and Rashel Gumacal (from Yanggaw); Digital Movie Cinematographer of the Year: Hermann Claravall and Lyle Sacris (from Yanggaw).
Chosen Male Star of the Night was John Lloyd Cruz while Sarah Geronimo was named Female Star of the Night.

Jose Manalo and wife to face legal charges for alleged multi-million jewelry scam
Ilang linggo na rin ang nakalipas magmula nang lumalabas ang balita ukol sa pagkakadawit ng pangalan ng komedyante na si Jose Manalo sa diumano’y multi-million jewelry scam laban sa kanyang asawa na si Anna Lyn.
Noong nakaraang linggo, inumpisahan na ng National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) ang imbestigasyon para sa mga reklamo ng ilang mga jeweler at property owner na nakanegosyo diumano ni Anna Lyn Manalo. Ang mga negosyanteng nagreklamo ay kinilala na sina Violy Alipio, Roel Lumbang, Purificacion D. Naive, Annie Dizon, Naneth Ugaddan, Susan Escosma, Aida Latuc, Trinidad Romeo Egya, at Elenita Pabalate.
Inirereklamo nila ang diumano’y bouncing checks para sa mga alahas at real estate properties na nagkakahalaga ng ilang million.
Ayon sa ulat ng The Philippine Star noong Sabado, June 20, iimbitahan ng NBI-Background Investigation Division (BID) ang mag-asawang Jose, o Ariel Pagtalonia Manalo sa totoong buhay, at Anna Lyn upang sagutin ang mga reklamo.
Dagdag pa ng NBI-BID, kailangan daw bigyan ng pagkakataong magsumite ng counter-affidavits ang mag-asawa bilang bahagi ng tamang proseso upang malaman kung may basehan ang mga reklamong kanilang natanggap.
Ayon sa mga nagreklamo, nagkaroon sila ng transaksiyon kay Anna Lyn sa iba’t ibang araw noong mga taong 2006, 2007, at 2008. Isinama nila ang asawa niya, na regular host ng Eat…Bulaga!, dahil isa rin daw si Jose sa nakapirma sa mga naisyung tseke. Ang mga ito ay tumalbog, ayon sa mga nagreklamo, matapos magsara ang mga bank account ng mag-asawa.
THE COMPLAINANTS. Sa affidavit na isinumite ng isa sa mga nagreklamo, si Pabalate, sinabi niya na kumuha sa kanya ng mga alahas si Anna Lyn noong bandang Oktubre o Nobyembre 2008 sa kanyang jewelry store.
Ayon pa sa ulat, ang mga alahas na nagkakahalaga umano ng P4,059,200 ay kinuha bilang consignment, at saka nag-isyu ng postdated checks ang maybahay ni Jose. Subalit, ayon kay Pabalate, tumalbog ang mga tseke na nagkakahala ng halos P332,300.
Sa balita naman ng Manila Bulletin noong June 18, nabanggit pa ang ilang detalye ng mga nakuha ng asawa ni Jose sa mga nagrereklamo.
Si Alipio ay nabiktima raw ng jewelry transaction na nagkakahalaga ng P2 million, samantalang alahas at Rolex na umaabot ng P5 million naman ang nakuha umano kay Lumbang. Iba’t ibang uri rin ng alahas ang sinasabing nakuha ni Anna Lyn mula kay Ugaddan na may halagang P7.5 million.
Isang house and lot naman sa Cainta, Rizal ang diumano’y naisarang deal ni Anna Lyn kay Naive na nagkakahalaga ng P5 million, samantalang worth P1.5 million na lupa’t bahay naman kay Dizon. Mga real estate property rin daw ang kinuha ng asawa ni Jose kina Escomo (worth P300,000), Latuc (worth P23 million), Egya (worth P6,793,000), at Pabalate (worth P2,930,000).
Ayon sa mga nagreklamo, binabanggit ni Anna Lyn sa kanila ang ilang pangalan ng mga artista na pinagbebentahan umano niya ng mga alahas. Ilan nga sa mga ito ay sina Pia Guanio, Helen Gamboa, at Kris Aquino.
Hanggang sa ngayon nanatiling tahimik ang kampo ni Jose ukol sa isyu. Sinusubukan na rin ng PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) na makuha ang panig ni Jose at ng kanyang asawa na si Anna Lyn.

hahaa nakakatawa nga ang GME7.. kasi ayon sa wiki ng gme7 nagsimula ang channel 7 TV nila noong 1961 nagulat nga ako 59 years na daw!!! Yon pala pati yong starting ng AM radio nila isinama samantalang mag kaiba ang Radio sa TV hahahaaaa…pero ni minsan di binanggit ang Radio nila na ang totoong 59 years…hahahhaa…garapalang panloloko….
