ABS-CBN Broadcasting Corp, the country’s largest network, is conceding its defeat in this year’s ratings war, saying there is too little time, barely two months to wrest the lead from GMA Network Inc.
Randolph Estrallado, chief financial officer of ABS-CBN, said “it’s about time to lower expectations. Airtime revenues for the rest of the year will be low. I’m not too optimistic about growth in terms of airtime revenues.
ABS-CBN’s audience share for the third quarter was 35 percent, a slight improvement from 34 percent from the previous quarter. Its rival has 47 percent, from 46 percent from the previous quarter, boosted by fantasy series Darna and Encantadia.
Among the top ten prime time programs, only Pinoy Big Brother made it with the rest aired by GMA.

entertainment live na nga lang show nya eh nilalangaw pa. naturingang may mga itsura kooolelat naman sa ratings. kawaaawang mariel ang kaapaal ng mukha nakinabang naman sa GMA. kung hindi dahil sa exposure mo sa Extra Challenge wala ka sa tinutuntungan mo! malaaaandi ka!
napalipat ako kagabi sa pbb eksaktong napanood ko ung sinabi nyang………”im smart! im smart! TG im so lucky im so smart! smart? wow nagbuhat ng sariling bangko. san ba nagaral tong taong to? wala ba syang GMRC or values na subject dati?
palibhasa gustong yanigin ang mga KAPUSO para magsilipat sa PBB sa sinabi nyang “BADUY NAMAN sa GMA”….sorry? ginawa mo lang worst! pinaglalaruan nyo GMA pwes tao magla2ro sainyo!

hay naku, kakainis talaga GMA consistent sa Top 5 ang prime-time shows, kakatuwa naman ABS-CBN2 palagai na lang second rate. Gandahan kasi ang story, yong tipong hindi gasgas na. Kung magremake naman, siguraduhing maganda gaya ng Marimar. O sya keep it up ABS-CBN2 at stay at No.2

Ganyan ang buhay minsan nsa ilalim ka pro atleast hindi gumgawa ang ABSCBN ng mga bagay na ikaccra ng GMA Talents pro ang GMA pg lam nilang talo cla lhat pasaring sa ABSCBN and hindi nila matanggap na khit mataas rating nila at sobrng sikat ng Talent nils lumilipat pa rin cla sa ABSCBN…malaking insulto yan pra sa knila dpat kc tama ang pasweldo nila hindi cla lng nki2nabang sa pingpaguran ng mga artista.

Timeline
Soap operas in the Philippines originated in radio, then it expanded into television in early 1960s. The first Filipino TV Soap Opera was “Hiwaga sa Bahay na Bato” in 1963 produced by ABS-CBN.
Soap operas in the Philippines were usually shown during daytime. Among the most popular daytime soap operas then were, Gulong ng Palad, Flor de Luna, Mara Clara, Annaliza, Aguila and Valiente. But in 1996, soap opera programming was move to primetime due to the popularity gained by Mexican Telenovela, Marimar, aired on RPN 9. This is the start of telenovela craze in the Philippines. Major networks ABS-CBN and GMA Network followed the trend by having foreign telenovelas in their timeslot.
In 2000, ABS CBN, made a milestone in Philippine Telenovelas when it introduced “Pangako sa ‘Yo”, which was known to be the first official teleserye, and “Kay Tagal Kang Hinintay”. These teleseryes set the standard of present teleserye productions in the Philippines which also became a big hit in the Philippines and likewise to other countries. Because of this, subsequent soap operas shown on television are now referred to as teleseryes. ABS CBN’s biggest rival network, GMA, has also followed, producing their own term of teleseryes under the term, teledrama.
Again, in Early 2004 ABS-CBN introduced a new variation of teleserye which mixes soap opera, fantasy, myth, magic and enchantment.This genre was called Fantaserye. The first official fantaserye that was shown on primetime TV was Marina. Marina undoubtedly set a benchmark for fantaseryes on television when it garnered consistent high ratings during its entire run. The ratings and audience share of the said fantaserye were even higher than the usual more established teleseryes during primetime.
In mid 2004, GMA Network, embarked on its own term of fantaserye which are called telefantasya. GMA produced Marinara and Mulawin, the latter becoming more successful which eventually started the GMA telefantasya craze. On the other hand, ABS CBN focuses on airing teleseryes for its primetime slots although it sometimes produces fantaseryes as well. It was this year that started further variations of the teleserye genre under the terms, superserye, sineserye and cinenovela.

o e ano ngayon kung totoo yang mga pinagpo=post mo kung sino nauna. e, sa talaga ngang malaking kompanya ang ABS CBN2 sa GMA pero tingnan mo naman lumalaban. Tandaan mo walang malaking nakakapuwing. Saka baka nakalimutan mo na sa GMA nagsimula ang Julian Talisman 1980’s starring JC Bonnin (cousin of Charlene Gonzalez) aired every prime-time. Dah mukhang hindi nag-research masyado.

Just as i remembered, 40% ratings based on Nationwide ratings, pero in the long run, Rounin went sooooo unlucky that it’s being constantly being beaten in Megamanila and failed to make it to the Top 20 NUTAM for 2nd Quarter. Worse, it has tragically ended by rating only a single-digit, so much for the humiliation being received by ABS-CBN from GMA-7 and MBC’s Jumong.
If NUTAM is what advertisers are after of, then why GMA-7 constantly receiving complaints from viewers due to commercial overloading, leaving the audience to bore to rot because time is given mostly on TVC’s than the show itself.

If MEGATAM is not so important, then why the airing schedule of ABS-CBN Primetime shows changes soooo usual like almost every other week or every other month?
Don’t get me started by telling me “to satisfy the audience”. Besides, if you are to satisfy the audience, why has some of your shows turned suicidal like your Rounin, Which Star Are You From, Deal or No Deal and Sineserye, na lahat pinantapat ninyo sa Jumong na ang ending ay ligwak?
GMA has been consistent with their scheduling, and they really give more priority on local shows than their canned Korean dramas thru earlier scheduling.
Schedule can be a factor but not always a reason.

Hanggang dito ayaw parin patalo ang mga kapamilyuks ah hehehe patuloy pinaglalaban yun mga panis at binaboy nilang palabas sa channel 2. Ang ganda ganda daw hmmm… magising na kayo!!! manoud ng GMA para marami kayo matutunan. Yang maging sino ka man at lobo eh hanggang 22 lang rating nyan pag ipinalabas. O kaya dahil ayaw pa ipalabas ang lobo dahil takot sa rating ni Marimar. Pustahan tayo nililigawan na naman ng Channel2 si Marian Rivera para iburo tulad ni fallen angel para lang humina ang primetime ng GMA. Lalo lang malulugi ang kapamilyuck sa kakapamirata ng mga lead stars sa GMA na pumapatay sa primetime shows ng Kapamilyucks.

osya nga pala wikipedia, parating first and pinagsasabi mo bakit parating 2 pa rin ang ABS-CBN2. Sabagay #2 kaya pati sa rating, your nothing but a second rate trying hard copy-cat pa din
parati na lang namimirata ng talents sa GMA. Basta nakakasira sa shows nila aahasin. Baka naman sa sobrang sugapa ng ABS puro nalang stars at wala ng wenta ang mga shows. Try nyo kaya mamirat ng script writers, directors and other off screen talents baka gumanda naman ang shows nyo.

Natatakot na kasi an g ABS-CBN 2 kasi nga naman unti-unti ng nababawasan kita nila. kahit pang sabihing nauna sila pero pag may dumarating na maganda ang quality ay go tayo mga pilipino. Tingnan mo nagstart yan sa TV, then ngayon may Star Cinema ang Dos may GMA Films naman ang Syete, may Star Records ang Dos may GMA Records naman ang kabila, may TFC sila and then may Pinoy TV naman ang Syete. Hala ka, baka naman sa sobrang dami ng talent ng Dos e puro na lang artist at wala ng magandang shows. Ayan ha, may kalaban na kayo para naman masaya.

Di na kailangan mag-mention because napaka-visible nila ngayon dyan sa halos lahat ng noon-time, prime-time at all the time shows. Ang mga talents naman ng kapamilya naaawa ako sa inyo mga ‘day at dong kasi na-itsa pwera na naman kayo. This latest finding was according to the Nielsen Media Research, which conducted a survey aimed to give a clearer picture of the viewing habits of the three market segments cited.
The research and survey was administered through personal interviews around urban areas.
Nielsen described the word “affluent” as those viewers who are living in posh “gated villages” with income higher than P50, 000 a month. The teens are those who belong to the 13 to 19 age bracket, regardless of economic status, while OFW beneficiaries are those with a family member working overseas.
In data presented by the said research and survey group, ABS-CBN registered a 79.4 percent grade to emerge as the top local channel most often watched by viewers who belong to the A, B and C1 market segment. The Kapamilya network was followed by GMA-7 with 64.1 percent, while ABS-CBN’s sister station, Studio 23, came next with 25.3 percent. GMA-7’s sister network, QTV 11, and ABC 5 complete the roster with 12.2 percent and 11.0 percent, respectively.
The teens TV viewership category was also ruled by ABS-CBN with its 62.11 percent clip compared to GMA-7’s 38.6 percent.
The Lopez-owned network also collected the most viewership in the OFW families segment, registering a strong 64.0 percent as compared to GMA-7’s 49.9 percent showing. Studio 23, occupied the third spot with 3.2 percent, followed by QTV 11’s 2.6 percent and ABC 5’s 2.2 percent.

kung “TRUST” ng advertisers din lng, obvious nman d ba. who reigns in commercials, billboards and print ads? halos puro talents ng ABS-CBN. everytime n lng manonod ako nkikita ko si kris aquino.andyan c kc concepcion, bea alonzo, john lloyd cruz, piolo pascual, sarah geronimo, sharon cuneta, aga muhlach, kim chiu, toni gonzaga, anne curtis, sam milby, angel locsin, luis manzano, edu manzano, charlene gonzales, bianca gonzales, boy abunda(hehe), empress shuck, vhong navarro, judy ann santos, ryan agoncillo, makisig morales, maja salvador,claudine barreto.. hay naku dami dami pa..

ur right!Belat, halos lahat ng commercial puro artist ng channel 2….ung fit n right na commercial kahit isa lang ang kapamilya run sila nman ang nakakuha ng right ng contest… Ingat na lang ang GMA 7 dahil mukhang lilipat na si Richard…Si Marian Rivera,napansin lang naman ay nung nawala c angel, bakit abs lang ba nagstock ng mga artista nila bakit ang gma ganun din…sinu sino lang ba ang may show sa gma…sina richard, marian and yasmien lang…At isa pa sa matindi si JOLINA MAGDANGAL, umalis ng 2 yan sikat ngayon nasaan na siya nasapawan…KAWAWANG JOLINA…..
